Ace Taxi Windermere

Despite booking hours in advance, and knowing the trip was to catch a train, the taxi driver arrived ten minutes late. There was no apology. We then had to drive too fast to get to the station. Comparatively very expensive too. If you have to use them (and I would not do so again) agree a price and get a name. When I asked my driver to check with the office on the fixed price, I was told the person I spoke to was on a break…

Lovely man from the firm stopped for us in the awful snow last week. He asked where we were going and happily dropped us off as close as he could. We could have been stuck for hours otherwise so thank you!

Just avoid this taxi firm full stop. Despite booking a week in advance for a special evening at a restaurant and then confirming again via email and phone call 2 days before hand, they didn't even bother turning up. When I rang them at 5pm when they should of been picking us up. They said they were on their way. 15 minutes later when I rang back I got, 5 minutes. When I rang a third time I got they were at a completely different location over 45 minutes away! They then set off and by now we were an hour late. When the taxi turned up we were 1 and a half late and with a 50 minute journey to our restaurant the occasion was ruined. We didn't make our special occasion and there was no response from Farek at the taxi firm. Just avoid unless you want to risk your evening being ruined.

Andy, our driver, was fantastic. He wasn't just our driver, but our friend and he was a joy to be with. Our car broke down on the way to Windermere (Lake District) and we needed a lift to a garage where it was being repaired. Ace Taxis were reasonably priced, polite and were true to their quote when asked how much the trip would cost. My partner and I cannot recommend Andy and Ace Taxis high enough.

A prompt and friendly service to Troutbeck Village. Will definitely book in the future.

Great taxi service. Took my partner to hospital, helped with bags and even got us a wheel chair at the hospital and offered to wait with us while we went inside. Would highly recommend

Pre-booked a taxi on Wednesday afternoon to be picked up Saturday the 9th in morning to go work. Rang up the same morning only to be told that my name wasn’t in their dairy

Ordered a taxi for a set time, as the set time arrived with no taxi. we called again to see where they were, we were told sorry they'll be here in 15 min. 15 min passed and we called again. Another 15 min passed and they finally arrived, but at the wrong location, we had to call again to ask them to meet where we had booked. No apology when collected and were £5 more than the company we used for the return journey.

Phone answered by someone who clearly struggles with the English language. Sorry, mate, I don't understand grunts. Instead of putting the phone down on me just say you don't want the custom. Just seen your other reviews........dodged a bullet there!
