Wimbledon Dance Academy

We have been going to classes at the Wimbledon Dance Academy for over four years. The owners and instructors are all very professional and really encouraging. The reception area is always seasonally decorated and extremely welcoming and the studio is a great environment for learning to dance. We've already recommended the Academy to our friends and do so to anyone wanting to learn to dance.

Excellent dance academy! All the instructors and staff are lovely, friendly and supportive! Been attending with my partner for a while and really enjoying it!

I have never posted a review of anything online ever, but the owner of this academy has left me with no choice. My daughter has been going here for a couple years now. The dance instructor Emma is fantastic. However the owner (lady at reception) is one of the rudest and most condescending people I have ever dealt with. As a result we have taken her out of the dance academy. To any other parents thinking about sending their children here I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. ( You communicated with my wife and I was listening to the whole conversation. Don't try and pretend this is a false review)

Hi Olga, the events you have described is not the phone conversation that we had. You may have confused this with another unhappy customer perhaps.I believe the manner in which you have responded to my review here (with an undertone of hostility), confirms the experiences I and other customers have had with you.You were the only person we spoke to on the phone, so please do not try to deflect by saying that we spoke to another member of staff.The other staff/teachers were extremely pleasant, and we had nothing but very positive interactions with them throughout, which is why we opted to continue with private classes.It is therefore unfortunate that we spoke to you and not another member of staff.

Excellent academy with skilled dance teachers and good facilities. Over the last six years we have used Wimbledon Dance Academy for dance lessons for two children, both of whom enjoyed the lessons and helped them grow in confidence.All staff are professional and in my experience enquiries dealt with quickly and in a polite manner. On the odd occasion when we had to reschedule a lesson, this was handled promptly and without fuss.The urban and street dance classes are throughly recommended to all.The dance school is located in central Wimbledon and therefore very convenient to get to as well. 5 stars.

My partner and I attended the dance academy and were really enjoying the classes. Unfortunately a interaction with the owner, Olga, changed our view of the business. Her rudeness and argumentative nature towards us was completely unprofessional. If you wish to be treated with respect, I suggest you try a different dance studio.

Owner (Olga) extremely rude out of know where when I simply asked if my daughter could move to the next group up. she told me that she will not have a parent or child dictating which class she should be in and if I don’t like it then I should leave. I tried to explain that I was just asking if it was possible and wasn't dictating and she just kept saying that I should find a new class if I didn’t like it. I have decided not to send my daughter back after being spoken to so rudely for no reason at all, we have been there for 3 years and to ask a simple question and get a response like that was very disrespectful.

Amazing dance classes! Fairly priced! Owners are lovely!This studio is a must visit if you're a ballroom dancer, and a must try if you've never done it before. Lovely atmosphere making it a brilliant place to meet new people.

We went there , first time and the lady at the reception (the owner) was extremely rude , bare in mind that we’ve never been there , not knowing what to expect .All I said is that maybe we should’ve gotten an email about no scooter policy . She said , it’s not her job to do that and it’s not her problem how we got there . And she closed the door in my face , soooo rude and patronising.I paid for the term , so we’ll have to go , but I will not continue. Plus we aren’t allowed to see the class . If you expect any kind of respect and communication from THE OWNER , this is not the place , it’s such a peaty , I was expecting more for the place , especially that it’s in such a good area.

My husband gave me 4 private dance lessons for our wedding anniversary ( 30th!) . We are both completely hopeless but wanted to learn ‘a dance’ so we didn’t look too terrible at our daughter’s wedding. Anastasia is endlessly patient and hey presto… we can already waltz and cha cha cha… 2 more lessons to go.
