Fantastic record shop. Sold some old vinyl lps and singles for a good price, Barry the owner is a joy to do business with and a true gent. This is the best place to buy or sell records in Southampton without doubt.

Amazing, mainly vinyl record store, close to the heart of Southampton.I actually popped in to sell my, limited collection and was most impressed with the professional manner of Boo Hop Records owner.It was a true pleasure to do business and to reminisce over the past of record history.Great place if you are looking to buy.A visit is a must, for vinyl and CDs and DVDs too.

Tried to find this place, only found a homeless chap doing drugs in a doorway. Either my map is wildly uncalibrated, I'm a moron, the place needs better signage, or its closed down.Editing to add following owner reply: Store information definitely needs to be updated to not list as open on Google. I went out of my way to visit this store during my few hours in the city. Seems fair to rate it accordingly. I'm sorry to hear you've closed down.

All the records that you can think of can be had here . The guy that owns the shop is very knowledgeable about his stock and ask any question which he will find an answer for. Nice person to talk to. Very laid back, relaxed place.Very good service.

Barry absolutely loves his music and will search for your wants. He also has a remarkable memory. Back in January 2020 well before the Coronavirus lockdown I asked if he had a Randy & the Rainbows 45 and a Paris Sisters 45. Just prior to the second lockdown in November 2020 I visited again, he remembered me and produced the 2 45s. I was well impressed! Barry's prices are very reasonable and he loves to chat music. An absolute treasure trove of a shop.

Owner, Barry is a total star & his shop is fantastic. Full of bargains from all era's. He is extremely knowledgeable about all kinds of music but 1950s is his forte.
