Claydon Picnic Site

Lovely place to stop by and eat your lunch or takeaway, especially in the summer by the river. You can lose alot of minutes here, just by admiring the small but beautiful view and enjoying the picture moment. Only downside is that it has no public toilet should you need it

Curiously pretty little green space remaining, crammed beside the A14 & the industrial estates that have spread like a tumour throughout this area. I'm confused as to why such a big sign declaring Picnic Site, because I was unable to find anywhere to even sit-down, so had to recline on a tree on the riverbank. The so-called 'Picnic Site' would seem to be no more than footpaths running parallel with the River Gipping & the A14/link lanes joining Claydon to Great Blakenham & Barham. The riverside tranquility of Claydon Picnic Site does suffer terribly from the traffic noise from the neighbouring dual carriageways...
