I thought it was okay but my husband gave it a 2 out of 5. We ordered a mini fish and chips with a separate pot of traditional curry sauce and it came in a cardboard box. Chips were chunky and well cooked with a slight powdery coating I can’t explain. Fish was well cooked and batter is traditional, not bubbly or crispy; more fluffy and soft. It is slightly better then local greasy chippies but my hubby did not think so. Prices are a bit much but if you are happy to pay then it’s a worth a try to see if you find your perfect fish or seafood shop. Ordering was 100x better as they ask you multiple custom food order options like if you want battered bits on your chips! I thought that was great. The service was impeccable. You can even see your food being prepared based on layout of the shop. Chefs are dressed in a white apron. Servers have their own uniform. Tills are set at the front with seating for waiting area in the main shop window. Eating area to the side/rear. There’s even those seaside deck chairs and a basket of leaflets outside the front of the shop which is why I ended up eating from there, I took a leaflet when walking past! Of course has a slight nautical theme to its decor. It’s on the main Harborne high street so good marketing tactic by having a large basket full of leaflets outside. It’s located between a greggs and a Boots. They do all sorts of seafood, not just fish and chips. Very varied menu, kind of shocked me - in a good way - not that I eat seafood; just that this little gem was on a high street like this. I know of people who travelled a good distance to come here. They offer NHS blue badge discount too. You get a receipt and order number to which they’ll call out your number when your order is ready. I spent about 10 min from arriving, making my order, waiting for it, receiving it and leaving. Overall, a great order experience. No direct outside parking because it’s a high street and there’s large, wide pavements outside. There’s a side road (St Johns Road) with double yellows that you could risk leaving the hazards on but next to that are car parks St Johns Rd West Car Park and East Car Park you can pay a few quid on. Alternatively there’s car parks nearby for a few mins walk called York Street x2 (North & South Side) and Metchley Lane Car Parks for like £1.70 for up to 2 hours. Use the app to pay or cash at the machine. Chippy Shuts at 9pm and all of these car parks remain open till after that.

What a scam for the price for fish and chips. The prices have also been increased and the quality of the food has substantially gone down.Chips were horrible, soaked and tasted of dey powder inside- definitely frozen. The food was very greasy and it even leaked out the bottom of the boxI dont know what happened to the fish but the sole of my shoe looked more appetising.I think they mistakenly put it into a blender because it tasted of soggy mush. The employees lazily forgot to batter my fish which I did not know was possible.Service was poor with a long wait.

Menu is decent. Didn't have Oysters for the seafood platter which makes up much of the £28 cost but it was replaced by a fair portion of Jumbo scampi. It's nice what they're doing, staff are very friendly and it's obviously very busy. very much a theme venue which is great if you're after seaside in Birmingham.Their own beer isn't half bad and the chips and fry-it were pretty good.Looks greatcfor families and kids, if a little pricey. Will visit again to give the pies a try.

I ordered a mini fish and chips and curry sauce on uber eats for this place for £12.20 and it was abysmal, tiny piece of fish in half filled box of chips that were disgusting. Avoid at all costs. They put the curry sauce in the damn box where my chips were meant to go! If I 2as closer id go to the shop and throw it in there bin!

We drove 30 miles to sample the delights & it worth every minute of the M6 traffic…We visited on a Tuesday afternoon, we were immediately greeted by a busy member of staff. We could clearly see they were busy, but they soon seated us at our table. All the staff were attentive and accommodating throughout our visit.Although it was very busy, our drinks, our food and our puddings were all served within a reasonable time frame.Every meal (2 adults, 2 children) was fantastic. Presentation, temperature, quality and taste all 10/10. We all enjoyed every mouthful. The children especially enjoyed their ice creams and activity packs…Well done to everyone at The Cod’s Scallops. You are all doing a sterling job.Great to have you and your multi award winning business in the West Midlands.

I had the scampi which was delicious. Nice place to eat with great service. My only slight gripe is that the scampi and chips meal doesn't come with peas or mushy peas so you have to order that as an extra which takes a £14 meal to £19 I think which feels like a lot for scampi and chips. But still enjoyable either way. Just a bit expensive.

The Cod's Scallops is a nice fish and chips place with plenty of seating available, you can also get takeaway. The staff are always friendly and helpful. You usually don't have to wait for more than 5-10mins to get your food so quite quick service. The fish and chips is absolutely delicious, nice homemade chips.

Food; absolutely rock hard horrible cold chips that were clearly fried hours ago and just shaken about before serving my order. Service ; miserable staff infact no customers every time I go. Atmosphere; completely dead. I’ve seen more life at a funeral. Honestly second time my chips turned out hard and cold . If I wanted cold food I would have gone anywhere. DONT buy food from here. Most of the foods high priced and waste of money if you get cold chips.I’ve had better service at Rubys Cantonese place opposite . Always warm food . Won’t be going to this chip shop again. Chucked the chips in the bin and cooked .

We had the lunchtime special and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you can't eat fried fish they offer baked cod without the batter. The baked fish is also very nice.
