Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo

Lovely way to spend an hour or so, incredibly helpful that your entry fee allows you to go in and out of the butterfly room throughout the day as it is of course pretty warm in there, so we definitely advise ice cream breaks at Izzy's Cafe next door to help keep you cool! Great range of butterflies and the staff seemed knowledgeable. We spent most of our time following the biggest bluest butterflies, because they were stunning, but they very rarely landed -- and if they did, it was never for long at all!! Trying to photograph them was an hour of fun in and of itself. Other favourites included the glass wing butterfly, and it was good to learn of the existence of the owl butterfly. Certainly lives up to its name!

Well worth a visit with your kids for a bit of insect life cycle education.Warm and humid, so wear something light.Maybe 30 to 45 mins is enough and then off to the mini golf right next door.

Lovely place. It is hot in the butterfly room but there's loads of different butterflies around. In lots of colours. I would recommend this place and the hedge maze is great too.

What a great day we had.Bit dubious at first as we didn't think it would take long, but we ended up spending over 3 hours here.We did the Butterfly farm, Maze and mini golf.Also had drinks at Izzys.Staff were friendly and helpful. Only cost £42 for 4 adults, but we did have Blue Light discount.A great little day out and hopefully you get a butterfly land on you.

It’s quite small but intriguing to watch and try and photograph the butterflies. I struggled with that as for one some just don’t settle and the lens of my camera also kept getting covered in condensation as the greenhouse they are kept is both humid and moist. Facilities are decent with sufficient car parking for our visit (£3 for 4 hours). There is a small cafe and we combined our visit with the maze puzzle next door.

As we were staying locally we thought we would drop in. Not a huge place but lovely walking around with the butterflies. They say it's lucky if they land on you, and my husband had lots. There are other things to do with children's miniature golf being one of them.EDIT TO MY ORIGINAL POST.A WEEK HOME AND I'VE JUST RECEIVED A PARKING FINE £100 OR £60 IF PAID WITHIN 14 DAYS. WE SAW NO SIGNAGE FOR PAY & DISPLAY ANYWHERE.
