Mortgage Light

Recently obtained a mortgage through James Carr & Lauren Axford at MortgageLight! These guys are incredible at what they do and their customer service is truly impeccable. I would highly recommend them to my friends and families and if you get the chance, highly recommend dealing with James Carr. He’s highly professional and always stays on top of your application to keep you posted. Thank you guys for your incredible service!

I have been trying to get a mortgage in principle off this company for over 6 weeks. I'm sure they can be good but I have been dealing with Michael and he has repeatedly ignored my emails, not updated me when things have happened and I've had to find out from his colleagues when I've called in, not to mention the weeks of no responses. Im actually really disappointed as I've tried to be understanding in terms of possible work load but I shouldn't be having to wait 7 days for a simple response, let alone 6 weeks for just a mortgage in principle. The manager initially seemed extremely apologetic but I've contacted her since to raise my concerns and I was ignored. Really frustrated and disappointed.

My broker, Max Derry, was great. I wasn't in the easiest of situations and it was a long process but Max was very helpful the whole way through. He took time to talk through everything with me and was easy to get hold of with questions and constant updates, even taking calls from me on his days off. Can't fault the service and the end result was far better than expected

Unfortunately I did not get a good experience with Mortage light.There was hardly any time I got through to my broker when I needed to and the communication was terrible too. I was dealing with James and I got my emails ignored. I was really disappointed and tried to be understanding.It’s all about the money for this company. Even though nothing was completed for me and after the stress I was forced to pay for no service. There are better brokers that will server and help you better, please save your self the stress.

Genuinley a terrible experience and will not recommend. Chased James Deakin multiple times via phone and email and no response. I have been waiting for over 1 month and not even received a mortgage in principle. The last time I rang for an update I told them I will cancel my application and they promised someone will call me back. 1 week later and still no response. I have now cancelled my application and had to choice but to shop elsewhere.I also work in the property industry and would never recommend this company to any of my clients or business partners. Please do not believe the ‘positive’ reviews on here as I believed them and ultimately wasted over 1 month and still in the same position.

If your mortgage broker is Sherrese just know your at the right place from start to finish she is so informative and always reassuring. Also she is so easy to get a hold of if you’re feeling unsure about anything she will make you feel reassured her communication was exceptional would recommend her to anyone whos looking to buy a house.THANK YOU SHERRESE

Sam Knight, the most dedicated, compassionate and caring advisor. Has never failed me and I've used her on many occasions now. She actually cares about her job and people and has been a huge support throughout a very difficult time. Wouldn’t recommend. I was only referred to them through a new build developer but they had little to no knowledge on new builds and developer incentives when structuring a mortgage. Took weeks to get a DIP when other brokers have got them in a matter of days. The broker didn’t read emails properly- to the extent when I asked if I could count a second income (clearly referred to as a second) in addition to my main income , the novice broker replied if your income is £X per month, this is nowhere near sufficient to obtain a mortgage on a property valued at £ X x 1000 - clearly not reading and assessing.Lack common sense and condescending. Slow, unprofessional service.
