Rendezvous Express

Ordered taster 2 sushi set for takeaway and was completely disappointed: fish content was no more than 10% of the overall weight. Tasted like plain rice for £11.20. Supermarket sushi set is same on taste and half the price.

The rendezvous restaurant in Swindon was unable to deliver all dishes as one was missing. When i phoned to inform them about the situation, they promised they would sent the dish in 15 -20 min but it took 40 min . After phoning them up again to complain , the person who answered was unable to explain why the order was not delivered on time and mentioned that there was nothing from stopping us to eat of what we already had* . They did not apologise in any way or offer any kind of compensation."

It was OK. Chicken katsu curry was all right. The chicken was very fried so barely tasted the chicken, just felt like pure batter. The chicken skewers for starters were tastless. The sushi was a waste of money too. VERY small and the rice was overcooked. Paid over 3 for a tiny lemonade too. Wouldn't go there again.

I really enjoyed the food here, i came here for lunch and we had the sushi platter and dim sum platter. Dim sum platter took a bit longer as it was all steamed. Both enjoyable. will have to come for dinner to try next time!

Awesome range of well done Asian food. This location seemed to specialise in take out so had little seating, so would recommend a reservation.Had the Dim-Sum platter (takes at least 20mins to prepare so order this asap if you want it) and the Japanese fried chicken. My wife had one of their Sushi platters which worked out incredibly good value for what it consisted of. All was displayed well and tasted fresh.

Possibly the worst restaurant I have been in Swindon.

I fancied Chinese food for my birthday and enjoyed a tasty meal here. All-you-can-eat is a good option, good choice (but not entire menu is available, understandably), ordered off the menu rather than buffet style which is much better, in my opinion. Good service. We don't live locally but would visit again.

Very disappointed in the last couple of orders from Rendezvous Express. I think they're trying to skimp on key ingredients to save money but what they do is actually compromise the dish. I'm gutted. This place was the ONLY takeaway I could count on to bring me decent meals every time. But the quality and standard is seriously slipping. The california rolls are barely rolled in fish eggs and the house special chow mein had no meat in it. I strongly advise the restaurant to rethink their new approach to skimping on quality.

Just tried the new restaurant it really shouldn't market it self as Japanese on google. The duty manger ensured me that it was the same chief as the previously owned Yume. I have my doubts this is true. As my food did not have a Japanese taste at all. There was no hint of the flavour. I ordered Ramen I have had better soup out of a tin. It was unpalatable, the noodles tasted of the plastic they had been kept in. The chicken was a cheap chargrill steak. The veg was totally wrong sweetcorn from a tin, red onion, and Chinese pak choi. The quality was so bad I couldn't eat it. Maybe the Chinese food they serve in there is better. But from the quality I just witnessed I wouldn't even attempt it again. I tried to not give this a one star rating but it wouldn't let me post the review if not. This place was a huge disappointment for me and my partner.

Good sashimi and sushi, and decent Japanese hot starters. Not tried any of the main dishes or Chinese menu. Usually friendly service in this sweet little restaurant. Very limited wine selection, but the whites they offer are decent enough (not tried the reds). Beer, sake, tea and soft drinks also available. Sadly, no dessert options (except for banana in panko breadcrumbs) last time we were there - but we're usually full and happy to skip dessert! Try the salmon sashimi.
