Victoria and her team have been fantastic throughout my process of searching for the perfect art deco engagement ring. I had been searching for a few months across London, including antique shops in Hatton Garden, but did not find my dream engagement ring. I discovered Friar House after searching for “Art Deco Engagement Rings” on google, and after finding a ring that I really liked the look of online, my partner and I reserved the ring and made the trip out from London to Battle. When we arrived, Jon and Kate were lovely and took care of us and made sure we had the right information and details for resizing. Furthermore, Friar House are LAPADA members which adds an extra level of confidence in buying antique jewellery from them. I am in love with my Art Deco engagement ring - I am so glad I held out for Victoria’s brilliant selection! Buying online unseen is nerve wracking as you are never sure what it will be like in person. Friar House were excellent. After a week long search throughout England this was the store that lured me in with not just a gorgeous window display but also an unexplainable aura. As if my soul just knew this was the place I’d find my engagement ring. We weren’t even supposed to be in Battle.The team is incredible and they even had some toys for my son to stay occupied while I was trying out all the rings. Ended up falling in love with a gorgeous and 5 sizes too big 20s ring, set with rubies and old cut diamonds. The shine was nothing like I’d ever seen. We did have some timing issues and unfortunately there was no way to get it sized by the time we had to leave England.Took it home anyway because they told me it could be done and I had no doubt they knew what they were talking about. I’d recommend them to anyone who’s looking for some truly beautiful antique jewellery.

I bought a pair of old mine cut diamond stud earrings from Victoria. The quality is second to none as is the service. I have recently just bought a diamond evening watch and it is immaculate, even more remarkable considering it is about 100 years old. I bought the watch on the basis of the photos Victoria sent over and her judgement. Both were exceptional.
