Simon, Andrea, & No. 21 York embody everything about why you should stay in B&B's. Personal attention even from before you arrive. The house and the rooms are gorgeous, quiet, and so comfortable and clean. Simon's recommendations for activities and where to eat in York are spot on! And don't forget the homemade breakfasts - fresh baked bread (by Simon!), wholesome pancakes, local jams & jellies, a full Yorkshire!

Had a lovely two night stay recently with friends! Our room was perfect & exceptionally clean, very comfortable bed with crisp white bedding. Everything we needed was there, the barhroom was spotlessly clean - a credit to Andrea!Homemade biscuits in our room were delicious & a lovely touch . Breakfast was amazing, served in a lovely airy room by Simon, the homemade bread & hash brown were so good. A big thank you to Simon & Andrea for a lovely stay! They couldn't have done more & we would highly recommend!

We simply love this hidden gem! The hosts are bar none some of the BEST - there to welcome you with a warm and inviting smile, to recommend activities in the local area, and to ensure you depart each morning with a happy belly filled with yummy fresh baked breads amongst other breakfast items. We would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone looking to explore York. It’s centrally located. So if you decide to train or bus in, your but a short walk away. It’s also close to restaurants and most all of York’s attractions. Strongly recommend!

We had the most PHENOMENAL stay at No. 21. Simon and Andrea were incredible hosts and their property was beautiful. Our room was cozy and all other room amenities were perfect. The small touches like the mini fridge with sparkling and still water, as well as fresh cream for coffee made us feel at home. Honestly our favorite part of the day was getting to come back to our room, make a cup of tea and munch on one of the homemade cookies from the cookie jar as we wound down for the night. The breakfast was... amazing. A true and proper English breakfast. Simon is an incredible cook. It wasn't just one of the best breakfast's we had during our two week trip through England and Scotland, but it was one of the best breakfasts I've EVER had! If you're there during/around the Easter holiday you might even be lucky enough for Simon to have made hot cross buns!The location was also perfect. Close enough to the train station to walk with suitcases, close enough to town to hop into the action, but also secluded enough to feel peaceful and relaxing when you needed some down time.We've already insisted to a few friends who are also planning holidays to England that they MUST visit York and that they MUST book a night or two with Simon and Andrea. If we ever happen to make it back to York someday, No. 21 would be the only place I would consider staying.

A stones throw away from the station, no 21 York was a delightful stay for my wife and I when we visited York over a long weekend. Simon and Andrea were amazing hosts, who couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. The shower was also very nice and the products provided smelt great. You complete a form in your room the evening before to order your breakfast, we were pleasantly surprised at the number of options and even more surprised at how good the breakfast Simon made was. Simon went out of his way to cater for our dietary requirements and likes. When I asked for Worcestershire sauce the first morning, Simon said they didn't have, however, the next morning when I sat down and my breakfast was served, a brand new bottle of Worcestershire sauce was put on the table. It's small gestures like that which will make you remember your stay forever. Overall Simon and Andrea were very friendly, chatty and accommodating. Thank you no 21!.

Simon and Andrea as far as we are concerned run the best B&B in York. Since my brother in law past away in 2021 we have celebrated his birthday in York. with other family members. Simon and Andrea have made this trip a lot easier for us and special. Nothing is too much for them, their home made sourdough bread is so good, as is their breakfasts. We have already booked again for next year. Thank you again Simon and Andrea for making our trip so special. Love Simon & Janette X

Best place to stay in York! (We stayed last month) Location is really convenient and the room is fabulous. Simon and Andrea are super nice host and very accommodating with everything. Will definitely stay here again!

We didn't get to stay at No.21 but they absolutely saved our bacon when our booked b&b turned out not to exist! Welcomed us in, helped us find a room for the night despite being fully booked themselves and even booked us a taxi to get there. They went above and beyond and we weren't even guests! Thank you both so much, restored our faith in humanity for the night! :)
