So I could tell you that George Moss jeweller has replaced batteries, repaired jewellery and sold me fabulous stuff - but if you have been there, you know that all comes with fabulous service and a thoroughly great experience. (And occasionally Prosecco!)What you may not have experienced is their expertise and professionalism in a ‘jewellery crisis’.I have a watch. A very nice watch. A quite expensive watch. George Moss replaced a battery and re sealed it. Fab.Then it stopped working.George Moss Jewellers took a look - again replacing the battery and testing it. (No charge - all part of the service even though I had not purchased the watch at George Moss.)They offered to have a look further into the workings, but did very fairly advise that though it would be more expensive, returning to the maker of this watch may be the better option since the probable fault was really not to be expected in a watch of this calibre so soon after purchase. I sent it to the maker’s service centre expecting a swift turn around and was met with a very unsatisfactory situation where the watch casing was damaged by them after receipt.To cut a long story short(er), with the help of Phoebe and Kelly I was able to be absolutely clear about the condition in which the watch was sent, and reasonably and fairly negotiate a repair and replacement parts.George Moss Jewellers could have washed their hands of it, they could have taken advantage of the situation for their own profit. But they didn’t. Phoebe and Kelly were supportive and without bias, resulting in a good outcome for everyone when in fact they didn’t need to. The problem was nothing to do with them at all - I hadn’t even purchased the watch from them. The problem came to light with the battery replacement and they came alongside me to solve it.I can thoroughly recommend George Moss jewellers and in addition am able to say that I trust them as a trader to be fair and reasonable, going out of their way to be helpful even when they do not necessarily have a financial stake in the interaction.

Great bunch, very welcoming. I'm probably not the usual customer, I'm a scruffy mechanic who's never bought a piece of jewellery, but bought a great engagement ring, and felt I got a really nice personable service, without any pushy tactics. Always worth supporting local, especially when this nice and knowledgeable. Will be back when it's time for the wedding ring. All the best, thanks again!

Amazing service! Used for the first time after seeing lots of positive recommendations on local Facebook pages. Repaired two very special and sentimental pieces of jewellery, a ring and a necklace. Excellent! We go to George Moss with every piece of jewellery that needs repairing/ resizing. Reasonable and reliable. They kept me in the loop with the costings and how long they estimated it would take to be sent off and then how long it would take to repair. I have recommended them to family now.

We are so delighted with the quality of the rings and they even dealt with a complimentary resizing when my fiancé's ring felt a little too snug. How lovely to get away from one of the homogenous jewelry chains (no pun intended) and into this haven of independant respectability. I was after a small silver cross and I could not have asked for a better experience. Phoebe was really lovely and extremely patient and nothing was too much trouble. Don't let the small premises fool you; once she established what it was I wanted, the perfect cross featured in one of the shop's catalogues and Phoebe managed to get it into the shop in less than 72 hours, so you will never be out of luck and even spoilt for choice.It's a real pleasure to have experienced this shop. The owner invests in the staff and has a nurturing eye for their wellbeing and careers, and it shows!

I have been buying from George Moss for as long as I can remember. Over the years I have purchased a variety of the most beautiful items covering all special occasions. Each time I have experienced a friendly, welcoming family atmosphere from Dottie, the meet a greet dog (adorable), to Kelly, Phoebe and Rob the owner. I have always received the most professional advice and guidance together with great discounts.I absolutely feel it is paramount to support such shops in a local High Street to help keep a sense of community alive especially when Rob himself generously gives back to his community - from thoughtfully having Remembrance Poppies available to his support of local charities and organisations.I feel compelled to write this review today as I believe we all play a vital part in how we want our shopping experiences to be, and to this end, for an engaging, personal experience at a top quality family jewellers, I will always choose George Moss.

We visited here due to the great reviews and we were not disappointed! They skilfully created my eternity ring using one left to me by my mum. The care, patience and utter professionalism the whole team showed us was second to none. I think what struck me the most was their passion for their craft (Rob really knows his stuff!) and the importance of making our experience a pleasurable one. My new eternity ring is even more beautiful than I had hoped for. I can’t rate George Moss Jeweller’s highly enough.
