Starters were not great, nothing wrong with the taste at all but very average. We both really enjoyed our mains though. Mine was the best vegetarian pub burger I have had anywhere so am very pleased to finally find somewhere that actually fills that 'pub grub' craving profile perfectly which is often not the case with the vegetarian options, Places often mix things up trying to make it more interesting when you actually want normal pub food just with meat alternative! Will definitely be coming back for my meal again. My partner said his cod was great & both our chips were great, good chips in a pub is a must! The pub itself is a beautiful cosy building, lovely atmosphere & the staff were all really polite & friendly.

Difficult to decide how to rate the Compass, scampi good, schnitzel was a huge piece of chicken that was really chicken in breadcrumbs not schnitzel (which should be thin light and subtle). Lots of Chunky chips but seemed a bit ‘dry’. Puddings were good, I would have to say the bread and butter was a dessert to share! The value for money was good, the service fast and friendly, the food arrived in a very acceptable short time and was hot.I was hoping for more from the diverse menu but left a bit disappointed. PS Beer good (real ale) and wide choice of other drinks and shorts.

This a superb pub restaurant, just a short distance from the M5 motorway, junction 24.It has some interesting decor, made up of new and old material, there is a large outside eating / drinking area, and overall it has a great atmosphere. The food was excellent, beautifully presented, and really good value for the money, although not cheap. I'd suggest that it's a location for adults rather than families, although I think they would be happy to accommodate larger groups. My partner visited the ladies loos, and was really impressed with the appearance and cleanliness. She also commented on the small supply of feminine products, which she highlighted is often very welcome. We enjoyed our visit tremendously and would certainly consider visiting on another occasion.

Good atmosphere and service was good overall; although, the time to serve everyone their food together was significantly staggered. The Soup was lovely, yet the Roast Turkey meal was warm at best and the roast potatoes very hard. The dessert was OK. Would return for a drink, but not the food.

Had our Christmas meal here this year and was really impressed. We were a large group ranging from young children to grandparents and everyone was catered for. The food was lovely, service was great and the extra little details to the tables really made for an excellent experience. Would definitely recommend and we will be sure to return! Thank you so much :)

Wow. Fresh honest food at a really good price.Impeccable and friendly service, food arrived without delays.I went for the soup of the day, made with actual fresh tomatoes, really good. A classic burger, moist and tasty, served with hand cut chips.I travel for work and have dinner in pubs and similar establishments regularly. The Compass has served me the best pub dinner I had in ages. By far.
