Went for breakfast here before a day out in Cardiff shopping. Great location, service and food. The staff were happy to help with specific orders and food came within a good time. Something I would mention is when we asked for water for the table this wasn't tap water and was added to the bill. Being a reasonably expensive restaurant this is probably normal but I'm not used to having to pay £4.50 for water. Other than that it was a great experience, a little pricey but nice for an occasion.

Delicious food and super helpful staff. No issues with our allergies. The nicest meal out in Cardiff for a little while, will be going back soon. They have an easy to use app for allergies, no pages of spread sheets to digest. Good choice if you need gluten-free. Choice was limited slightly when adding dairy into the mix. But the food was delicious. Also good vegan options.

Upon stepping inside, one is transported to a rose tinted vision of 1920s decadence, where the service is premium and the customer is treated to unrivalled luxury. The surroundings ooze elegance throughout whilst still retaining a welcoming disposition.Staff are clearly highly trained, none more so than Andy who ensured that a rare baby free date night meal was a spectacle that we will remember during our sleep ravaged months.Every staff member ensured that we felt like a VIP and no need was unmet.Cocktails rival anything else on offer outside London with skilled bar staff combining exquisite flavours with a welcome air of theatrics.Food is again rooted in classics and would not be out of place at the Savoy or other such establishments. The careful attention given to sourcing high quality ingredients shines through the dishes, and meticulous, skilled preparation ensures that the food lives up to the stunning ambiance.Sometimes food is functional, sometimes it is an event that weighs heavy on the wallet but is worth every pound. The Ivy is a showstopper of a venue and despite the cost, delivers quality sufficient to ensure it is an experience easily recommended.

So first time I'd been here and a party of 6, from the start it all felt a bit disjointed we all lined up waiting for one of 2 waitresses to arrive to show us to our seats which during the start of service could've done with more than 2 waitresses to show all the people huddled in the foyer. When we arrived at the table the waiter rushed us into ordering drinks and to be honest rushed us through the whole night. Whilst serving our food he after only bringing half of it out then started serving another table!! After that table he then brought out the rest of our food and sauces which was very odd. The Tempura prawns and 12oz Steak were good, well Seasoned and complimentary sauce but For me the whole experience was ok but could've been better and to be honest on paying £170 per couple when my wife's not drinking was a little over the top. The waiter brought half the food out then served another table then brought out the rst of the food which was crazy..For me it's a ticked box but not one I'll be looking to re-inact any time soon. I've eaten in michelin stared restaurants for slightly cheaper and better service and quality. To be charged £60 tip for this service was wrong hence why we refused and the £60 automatic tip and paid 50% of it.

Went here for a family event, it was definitely a lovely place to spend time and enjoy the atmosphere.Although I wasn't impressed with the selection of food, it is important to note that I am vegetarian and was using the dinner menu. There appears to be better selections for vegetarians on the other menus. The quality of the food was great, however. Although my family had steaks which they weren't impressed with (for the price). Especially considering their portions. The desserts here were epic! The staff here were really helpful and welcoming.

A beautiful restaurant in a fantastic spot. The food was absolutely delicious. Me and my partner shared a souffle for starters and had the same main of Chicken Milanese. Both were served hot and were full of flavour. The staff were friendly and helpful with very prompt service. The environment within the restaurant is a buzz and it was decorated with style. Will happily be returning again in the future.

We had a fabulous afternoon tea at The Ivy . Food was great, staff were fantastic. A truly wonderful time had by us all. The chocolate cake in the plant pot caused such a laugh as one of our party didn't hear the server say it was a cake and when we started eating it she was concerned. So funny. The desserts were so very nice. Thank you

Excellent ambience and service, very surprised by its quality here in Cardiff. Various choices from appetizers to desserts and you can also order something from the Asia side (which menu looks too western exotic), however, the sashimi tuna was out of expectation, even the dipping sauce was vinegar instead of soy sauce.Shepherd’s pie and grill aubergine were both elegantly presented with excellent taste.Hot tea was fresh mint instead of tea bag which was another nice surprise.Overall with this environment and food quality I consider its pricing as very reasonable.

The atmosphere is brilliant and the staff are attentive but It's too bad the burger I had was somehow both raw and dry and I paid £20 (+ mandatory service fee of 12.5%). And to be clear everyone else's burger wasn't like this so it's not some strange culinary style. The chips were good and the cocktail I had was nice but the actual main meal really ruined an otherwise nice experience. The Ivy gives me the impression it's all style and no substance.

Beautiful food. The Christmas scenery is very nice. The waiters are very busy and try their hardest but it does add a little stress to the meal sometimes. Will definitely be back In the new year.
