God's Providence House
Lovely tea room, full of character and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. Plenty to choose from on the menu, so much so that most of us ordered two dishes! The scones and loose leaf tea were fantastic, will definitely come back if we are in Newport again.

I had a gorgeous date and walnut scone in my cream tea. Absolutely delicious. Lovely atmosphere in a traditional style tea shop. Had not been there for a while but it was just how I remembered it from when my children were young.

Superb value savoury tea with delicious cheese scone, butter, grated cheese and pickle plus pot of tea. Had even put table flags at half mast - touching. Friendly efficient service in pleasant rooms. Clean loo too.

We had lunch there today as it was my sister's birthday. Lovely meals and, learning it was her birthday, her dessert came complete with candle and a rendition of Happy Birthday with no charge for it. Very personal service, thank you so much it made her day extra special.

Lovely food and staff, very friendly. I didn’t try the cakes (found them too late!!) but oh my goodness they did look amazing.

Myself and my sister often pop in to this lovely tearoom when we are in Newport. We visited recently and were greeted by a very cheerful and friendly Robin ( the owner ) who asked if we would like to be seated in the Ghost Room or the Christmas Room. Even though it's mid October we both jumped at the chance to eat in the Christmas Room which had decorated tree, Father Christmas and decs with fairy lights and Christmas tunes playing.I'm usually a grinch but loved this, it even put me in the Christmas spirit for once. Our food was tasty and came to our table in good time and we couldn't resist dessert. The Pavlova and Lemon Meringue were divine. The building has a lot of history and it's interesting to learn where it got it's name from. Thanks Robin for the laughs you gave us on our visit and rest assured we will visit again soon.

£7.95 for cheese on toast. No pickles/chutney/salad/crisps to break up the cheese and/or make it worth the price. Milkshake wasn't great either. Such a shame because it was nice to be able to sit outside by the church.

The perfect place for a cuppa after a mornings shopping. Lovely friendly staff, great food and warm cozy atmosphere 10/10. And don't forget all the amazing crochet decorations and tea cozys.

Situated in a historic building next to the Church. I would recommend a visit. I love the personal touches, the quality and presentation of the food and the amazing window displays depicting IOW events. We went just after the IOW festival - hence the camping teddies.

Been here several times and the food is always delicious, tried the steak pie with roasted potatoes today which was lovely and the brownie cheesecake was one of the best desserts I’ve ever eaten - also ordered the lemon merengue which both looked at tasted phenomenal! Always worth a visit and some fantastic history
