Kings Heath Practice

When you're not feeling well, don't bother phoning to schedule an appointment to visit a doctor. My recommendation is to go to a different practise. I called at 9 a.m. for my uncle and was informed that the doctor will call me back within 2 hours. After three hours, no call was received. I phoned back and was told that the nurse attempted to contact me (she never called )The receptionist then told me that she would arrange for a call back after 2 - at 3:50, just before closing time (4pm), I called back for the third time, and the receptionist told me that they tried to call me twice and even left a voicemail (no calls or voicemails were ever received) - she then informed me that the next available phone call appointment would be AFTER 2 DAYS!!!

OMG total of 2 hours and hanged up phone, walk in to doctors with not person with a phone in there hand. As i go through months of them playing games with children medication, told I need to do in plenty of time like im the problem......

Nice receptionists, nice doctors. The doctors take time to listen to you and treat you. I've been in 3 times now and talked to the doctor/nurse more than i did my other practice in 10 years. I did have a problem on the phone last year with a receptionist but don't think she is there now.

I spent over an hour waiting to speak to someone so I could book an appointment, but I understand it can be busy so that’s not the issue. The issue is after all that time and finally getting through, for them to say a doctor will call me back and never did is just ridiculous. Also a while ago my mum called up on behalf of my little brother to cancel his appointment (he suffers with anxiety and was begging not to go). The receptionists seemed lovely, until they thought they’d ended the call and began to talk poorly on my mum amongst each other. Saying how she’s a terrible mum and other things. My mum heard all this and I think it’s fair to say she was definitely upset.

Saw Dr. He said prescription ready in chemist near to surgery in 30-40 mins. I'm still waiting 4.30 . To be told he was a locom and a Dr has to do signing. Why be told from locom it'll be ready. I'm ill I can't keep stressing to get my prescription and which surgery has it gone to .when I said near this surgery.

Absolutely disappointed in the service. When you are not feeling too well don’t bother calling to get an appointment to see a doctor. You wouldn’t get any at best a week later you may get a booking. My father did call, couldn’t get one and had to go to the Hospital non-urgent service to be seen. Can wait to switch surgery’s.

I've given this doctors surgery 3 stars purely for its amazing reception staff and nurses.When the surgery was with virgin care and linked in with the Lings surgery it was impossible to get through in the morning (I had to call over 100 times one morning) and because it took so long to get through it meant that getting to see a doctor or getting a call back was difficult sometimes impossible.Now that lings have closed and the surgery is with another company when I call in the mornings it goes straight through to the automated system. I don't have the issue of not being able to see or speak to a doctor anymore there is always something available.I have never had a doctors where the receptionist will go so far out of there way to help you out with anything they possibly can and if they can't they try there hardest to get it resolved for you. There always polite, professional and friendly.You may be able to now see or speak to a doctor at this surgery now but they are what's letting it down. There doesn't appear to be any doctors that are permanent here. You'll see a doctor a couple of times then you won't see them ever again. It seems odd to me that this is the case but I'm just glad I can get to see a doctor if I need to.I can't really say much for the nurses as I've only ever seen one of them although she was lovely and friendly and really helped me with the problem I had.

Brilliant practice. Have been amazing during pandemic. Even if we couldn't see someone, could always talk to someone on the phone. Cannot praise the doctors, nurses and receptionist highly enough.

I have spent the last 8 yrs battling to even get a prescription for my medication. I have mental health issues and it’s a constant struggle for this surgery to issue my script weekly. Every week l have anxiety due to their basic lack of duty of care to their patients by only supplying medications when it suits them. Yet again l have had to use the out of hours GP service to receive my medication. The prescription line is only open from 10-4. I have yet to know of an illness that only affects me during these hours. The staff are rude, argumentative and talk over you. I have made several official complaints over the years and been fobbed off with all manner of excuses. This practice is not fit for purpose.Also, it’s illegal under the Mental Health Act not to supply prescription medication, something that this practice fails miserably at, leading to further anxiety and distress to us, the patients.I don’t feel that I can actually award any stars, that option wasn’t available. Previously the Surgery was placed under special measures some years ago but there has been absolutely nothing done to improve the situation.

Husband just joined this surgery and was very impressed with staff and service he received yesterday. Nurse went out of her way to ensure he received all outstanding vaccinations and inoculations. Nurses at both King's Heath & Park Avenue clinics very helpful and professional.
