Toby Carvery Luton
We visited the Luton Toby Carvery for the first time this week and were really pleased with our experience. The staff were friendly and the food was first rate, with four roasts and a wide variety of hot, tasty vegetables. It's a real hidden gem in Luton town centre (and a good alternative to the rather unpleasant Galaxy Centre), and a great place to bring the family for a civilised, hearty meal.A voucher for two two-course meals for £12.50 can be claimed by joining their email list - making it even better value!

Don't expect this carvery to be serving on time - supposedly, they start serving at 12pm but, I had to give up waiting and left at 12:25pm with no sign of movement! Since, I have been back &, the carvery staff seemed a bit surly - maybe an off-day?Close call whether this or the next door Jimmy's World Grill is better (although a tad more expensive)....Update:Nov 2013I returned to this Toby Carvery and foolishly chose the King Size option. The Chef displayed 'Sushi' like talents carving the roasts razor thin - in a presumed attempt to limit portion size. In fact, I would go further: the King Size option is a rip-off & offers nothing to the client except more real-estate on bigger plate to place more vegetables on his or her plate!Since Toby change the service offering to an 'Express' format, waiting staff seem to wander aimlessly, interrupting the guests at the most inappropriate moments - adding no value to the experience.Update: Oct 14I know.... ended up in this restaurant - again but, I left my visit well passed the service start at midday. Not much has changed... The new 'express' format has been adopted but as far I can see, it makes service more disjointed.... But, the food was good.....
