Simply Gorgeous

I sadly have to say my first experience going to this salon wasn't a great one..so I hope that through my review they learn/get better with every passing experience a customer has.In September I decided to try lace fronts again. Unfortunately the glue took most (if not all) my edges and I was so embarrassed I decided that in 2023 I was going to start treating and braiding my hair again.I went to this salon because the look and vibe of the salon looked welcoming and friendly...however when I went in that was not the case. There were two woman who constantly told me how bad" my hair was and how "you have no edges" to the point where I felt less and less confident and more embarrassed. Not to mention I was charged £90 for a cornrow and treatment even when in the email it was much less then that!Unfortunately I will not go here again. It was just not a nice experience for me."

Simply magnificent hair braiding at simply gorgeous :-) we highly recommend this really lovely business, the care taken and attention to detail are unbeatable!

My daughter has had box braids with extensions done twice at the salon. The booking is very easy and the staff professional and kind. Would highly recommend.

I was recommended to try this small independent salon several years ago- considering that I travel all the way from Oxfordshire to London and am still a regular, that says a lot about whether they are worth it!They remember everyone and what you had done, even if you’ve not been for a while. It’s like being part of their family- the owner- Florence- is referred to affectionately as Auntie and her inspirational daughter Deborah, whilst primarily using her skill set for accounts, marketing and PR, just happens to have a gentle touch and styles hair perfectly if you are lucky enough to catch her. Other stylists are patient , friendly and seem to know when you want to chat and when you are happy to go with the background music while you relax.Black hair can be notoriously difficult to find a good and consistent result for and when time is of the essence, it’s been fantastic to see a salon that runs to time and can relax and style within 2 hours.Very happy with them and the value they offer. They also do a great job with European hair!Give them a try- support a small independent business - they are so totally worth it!

If i could rate this with no stars i would. I went in with better hair than when i came out. This is literally the worst hair salon ever. The person in the shop asked me if I had a booking and when I did not understand her and ask for her to repeat the question, her answer was 'do you speak English?', this should have been my first clue that this was going to be a nightmare. She proceeded with a hair wash where she seemed on a missing to scrape the skin off my head using her nails, any hairdresser knows how bad this is for the scalp. Then attempted to trim my hair, she could not even hold her scissors, parting was never symmetrical, she missed some hair. Finally put lotion in my hair making it so oily that when she blow dried it the oil would not dry. When I told her that i was not happy she statted to be so irritated that she ended her rant by asking me to pay and basically leave. When I took the picture of the shop front to write a review she started to chase me down the road shouting that I was crazy. Worst salon, worst hair wash, Worst blow dry ever. Forget customer service, non existent. Do not waste your time, the whole thing was ridiculous, absolute waste of money.

Great price point & peaceful ambience in salon. A good quality range of products on offer in store for aftercare. Nice one for the diary

I started my hair journey at this salon and have been back once now - I have been treated by Deborah, her mum as well as some other wonderful ladies. They clearly know ALOT. It feels like stepping into a community and really easy to feel comfortable there. Thank you so much Simply Gorgeous! :)

I have an allergy to gel and made mention of this asking them not to use it on my scalp but it was ignored. It's really frustrating to have professionals not able to braid without using a huge slab of gel all over the scalp. My hair felt so sticky after braids and It just wasn't worth the price of £110. The staff, however, were friendly once working.

Made me feel right at home, my partner and I were offered tea and coffee as soon we came in. I haven't had a hair cut in over 7 years, so I was nervous to go anywhere to get it cut. I had been to a wig making course in this salon before so I though why not. The hairdresser, talked me through everything before she even touched my hair so I felt so well looked after and calm. The owner of the salon came over and perfected the look. After we had paid (so reasonably priced) we were welcomed to stay and finish the coffee, such a nice feeling. Nothing like these high end salons I have been too, honestly much better service and prices. I am so pleased with my trim!!!!
