This is a great scheme within The Anchor-Hanover Housing Trust. Being a tenant gives you access to many other schemes and locations, Nationwide.I have stayed here many times and it remains a firm favourite. I'm a disabled pensioner, but I can reach the town in about 70-90 minutes, with stops. A normal person, of reasonable walking ability, could make it in 5-8 minutes.You can catch buses to Berwick-upon-Tweed and points between, at a bus stop 125m from the front door. Buses to Alnwick, Morpeth, Newcastle and points between can be picked up in Alnwick bus station...500m away...a bus stop is available opposite the museum.Super friendly staff, especially Louise, the scheme manager. This is a highly popular guest room for visitors, so booking is essential and advised.Current rates for the room are £10.00 (1-2 people). Shower and toilet are immediately outside the room. The room has twin beds, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. Crockery and cutlery are provided...and if you are lucky...free tea and coffee.Highly recommended.
