Do Thompson envisage opening up the auction house to actual auction days opposed to only online? We miss the atmosphere and picking up a bargain this way is sooo boring

Used to go for years but feel it has gone downhill. Having said that, I'm sure there's always something for someone at Thompson's.

I have been using Thompsons Auctioneers for about a year now and furnished my whole house with goods bought from them.The customer service is great, the staff are friendly and very helpful.Buying and selling has been a very positive experience for me and I would highly recommend them.

There are some big auction houses in Harrogate but for me Thompsons was in a different league to Morphets. Will definately use again.

Good efficient auction. Im a regular buyer there and it is better than many because the auctioneer doesn't hang around. At too many auctions there is excessive chatter between lots whereas here its rattled through. Great food wagon outside too. There is a lot of competition for stuff but thats just the way it is. Have a good ferret through the boxes.

I'm a bit of a regular here. It's a lot (geddit?) of fun. It should be everybody's first stop for furniture, because you can get left-field kit for very little money. Amongst the non-furniture items I've picked up are a set of Italian-style bowls in some kind of marbled bakelite, a small collection of gloomy monochromatic maritime pictures, a set of suitcases, a valve trombone, some 1970s plates decorated with stylised fishes and a couple of boxes of vinyl records - none of which I could possibly have known I wanted until I saw them. There's a van outside called Lot T's where you can get tea and bacon butties and it's very interesting seeing who buys what (you can even talk to them about why they bought it). Kids will be bored but for adult entertainment it's probably unbeatable. The auctioneers are good and there are helpful folk on hand to help you squeeze your purchases into your car.

Used to come from whitley bay, but now online only will not be buying. Will return if you fully open the doors.

Have used them previously and been v happy. This time, sent them photos of furniture as requested (needed pick up), but received no reply, including to a chase up email (ie twice) saying I would like to know either way if they were interested/not. Am wondering if they simply ignore their emails despite advising callers to use it? Can only assume they are overwhelmed with items and not able to provide a service - only wanted a Yes or No from them after all…..
