Hungry Shack Birtley

Very poor. Soggy wet chips, the gravy I expected a nice chicken gravy but it was watery cheap beef flavour. Chicken rubbery, Just rubbish.

Food arrived late, chips were stone cold and chicken strips were stale and soggy, and also cold. Gravy was basically brown water.

(We live about 10 minutes from this place).Ordered and it came at 7:20 and out of the 5 things we ordered which 4 were good for people to eat one of them was the Mexican chicken burger and it was stone cold. We decided to call and just query about this and that everything was fine apart from this meal. We were told that we would get another in about 10 minutes so we thanked and waited. After 33 minutes we decided to call again and they said that it would get to our house soon but after another 20 minutes we decided this was getting really ridiculous and called again and the person that answered us decided to hang up on us mid sentence. After waiting for longer after that were called again and were told they were trying to get the manager on the phone to us. At 9:09 we got a call from the manager saying that he just realised what happened and we would get a meal soon. It was 9:30 when the meal arrived and not to our surprise it was stone cold after waiting 2 hours in total for it. Had great orders in the past but will not be ordering from here again.

Lovely food never had a bad meal

Ordered from here took an hour and a half to come, it was freezing the lamb was sour way past it's best, wouldn't even feed it to the dog, utter waste of £22.

Excellent delivery and pick up services.Chicken is always freshly cooked decent cuts and well season. Burgers are excellent as are strips. Always happy to go here

This was a nice place to eat but now very poor burger buns have changed they are very dry and just fall to bits when you eat them this was the last time i go shame

I don't know where to start. Delivery took 1 hour 10 minutes. Chip, loads of them but cold. Pizza well what can I say. The base was paper thin, brown and hard. Also burnt on one side. The topping was in the middle and not to the edges. Hardly any ham and pineapple. It was tasteless. I paid extra to have mushrooms added but there were none on it. Nearly pulled my teeth out trying to bite it. I ordered a stack for desert but sent a cheesecake as they said the stacks were out of stock. I hate cheesecake. Never again will I order from there over £20 chucked in the bin

Well I don’t write many reviews only when exceptional service or in this case Poor. Ordered via their own app rather than Just eat as we knew the conglomerate would take a chunk of the fee. Look after local they say! Maybe these cowboys should think about local customers. I ordered at 6-40pm and could have selected an earliest time of 7-12pm for delivery but just chose ASAP bearing in mind I live 1.5 miles from the shop. 7.50pm I rang to chase my food and they said it is just coming out now and on the way. 30 mins later and still no food. I rang again to be told “On the Way” which to be fair and credit due was on the way. It got delivered and boy we were disappointed … Yes! Pizza was Luke warm and pepperoni was burnt to a crisp and the base was like eating cardboard. The chicken burger we asked for without mayonnaise and guess what it came with mayonnaise! after scraping it off my daughter who is nearly 14 and not a kid said it was not brilliant and she never complains. My wife said the chicken wrap was ok so I take that as a positive! Anyway £31 worth of food ordered probably £10 worth the money. Do yourself a favour skip by this place and spend your hard earned money where they appreciate your business and take care in the preparation and ingredients or in fact can cook to a takeaway standard.
