Staff are friendly,The rest of it isn’t great. The place is pretty beaten up, it’s smells so bad like damp and mould. Everything is sticky. Seats are ripped up. The glasses had lines of dirt round them.

Firstly the service from Phillip was top level, attentive and kind, top guy and got the orders spot on. The burgers themselves are amazing, I've had them from loads of burger places before, and these are the best. We got the Smokey and the B-Rex with sweet potato fries and bacon cheese fries, spot on, flavours were amazing. The venue itself was clean, warm and looked pretty smart. Would definitely go back the next time I travel from Manchester.

Fab, tasty lunch out with a friend. Downside was the seats near the door on a bitterly cold day so ate with scarves and jumpers on. Staff did their best to keep the door shut despite the people in the queue insisting on jamming themselves in the entrance. Good atmosphere and really lovely, well cooked food. Will be back!

I was in York enjoying the holiday offerings, such a beautiful time of year in York. I'm not from the UK and had been really craving a burger so as I was passing Byron and noticed they had burgers & beer, I went in feeling excited and hopeful. I was happy to see they had an IPA on draft and I ordered that and a cheese burger. The waitress asked if I had any allergies which I thought was nice but also odd, I've not been asked that before. So, when the burger came and I took my first bite I was instantly hit with SALT. Indicative of what we call MSG (monosodium Glutamate) A toxic concoction often found in Chinese food, though perhaps in more food here in the UK? A lot of people are allergic to MSG which is why I think they asked if I had any allergies. Now you know what to do if you get asked. My burger was far too salty tasting (and I don't shy away from salt) so I will continue my search for a good (healthy) burger in Yorkshire!

I am a big fan of the Byron burger and have been coming here for years. The customer service is great and the food always delivers. My only gripe with this place is the fact you do not get a drink or fries with your single patty burger. Once you add those things it'll cost you the same as a meal at a steak house. A bit mad really. But if you fancy a good burger I would recommend.

My wife had a lunch menu cheeseburger for £7.50, plus an extra £1 for sweet potato fries. It looked like a regular beef burger that had been sliced in half! Very poor and not worth it. I had a smokey burger off the regular menu, ok but not worth £13.50, and a tiny pot of fries for £3.95. Plus 10% service charge. The venue was also very scruffy. First and last time!!

Visited whilst on holiday with friends in York.I'm probably one of those people restaurants dread as I am dairy and gluten free. Not at Byron the staff were excellent. A folder of all allergens in their menu was provided which isn't unusual but the knowledge and recommendations were perfect from the wonderful person who guided me through the menu and even another member of staff pointed out which condiments I could or couldn't have. A great meal followed with perfect service.

Absolutely delicious food and generous portions.The staff were very friendly and I'd particularly recommend the milkshakes although they're practically a desert in themselves.

Excellent, tasty perfectly cooked burgers. Staff were very attentive. Great customer service. Accommodating when it was busy. Love the atmosphere. Great chicken gravy. Highly recommended.
