Rapid Tyre

Similar to other reviewers, we were ripped off and exploited being on holiday and having a language barrier by both this garage and AA who they work with. We were dependent on their service as the AA guy brought us there, I didn’t see the abysmal reviews until after we left the car overnight. I called them multiple times next day for an update (AA said the car would be ready by midday) and finally we picked it up at 6pm. Although it did seem like we were grossly overcharged, I had unfortunately expected this and was willing to leave it alone. One of us even wanted me to leave a good review for staying after closing time and fixing what no other garage could fix in the timeframe we had.48 hours later we were back to square one with the same problem. Time was running out on our holiday and we had a different (actually competent) AA patrol tell us this garage should have checked for another fault which they didn’t. Instead we had spent £710 on a new part that was probably irrelevant and a service that was definitely irresponsible. In a last effort we called them up a day before leaving as we had no clue whether we would be able to get home, guy on the phone said first we “should have called on Saturday” as they “were open all day” even though they report their garage on Google as closing early that day, and then to email them the AA report we got, after which they would call us back. Of course they never did.Also, always check reviews first, especially when desperate.

DO NOT VISIT THESE WITH YOUR CAR!They took our car last Thursday to fix the drivers window,telling us it wouldn't take long to fix, Friday they said it wasn't done yet,but they would have it done by the afternoon, phoned about 3pm,was told he was working on it and they would phone me when finished, phoned back at about 5pm,still got told being worked on,and they would phone me when ready.Saturday morning, phoned again,told he was working on it,would be ready soon. By 1.00pm had had enough, went there to see what was happening, my car was in exactly the same place as I had left it! No one had even looked at it! Got my car keys back, and drove off. They are usless liars! Avoid this place.I have just read your answer! You can't help but lie, I would tell everyone I know to avoid you,I'm not the only review to say this! AVOID THIS PLACE

Friendly and very efficient garage that you can trust

We were towed to this garage on our way to our holiday destination by the AA, after a clutch failure. It was on a Friday evening during the Royal County Show and we were told that other garages would be fully booked.The repair was finished by the following Wednesday. We noticed a troubling rattling sound from the clutch area and contacted the garage twice to query this. They did not respond.On returning home, we had the car checked by our regular VW garage who found that one of the bolts used was incorrect, and would have caused damage.We twice contacted the garage again, with no response. We had to go through the Small Claims Court to recover the cost of correcting the faulty repair.

Iv used this garage for years for my mots and occassionaly for work. There a little difficult to get on the phone when busy and can have a few weeks waiting list but once you get through they do get you booked it. Mots are fair. Work is good but can take them longer than initially stated so allow time if you leave the car with them.

I called the garage and asked for a price to supply and fit two new tyres for my car and asked if it could be done the following day, they said yes. My husband took the car to them at the agreed time and the tyres weren't there. They took my number and said they would call when the tyres arrived. Chased mid afternoon as I was expecting a call and the tyres were on their way I was told. Three days later I still haven't had a call and now I have gone elsewhere to someone who had tyres and was able to fit them same day. Don't bother with this lot, complete waste of time.

Left caravan wheels there for best part of 3 and 1/2days repeatedly told they were on their way repeatedly fobbed off when desperately needing them back to return to yorkshire apparently I'm not alone in being thoroughly hacked off.

Recently popped into the premises of Rapid Tyre and MOT Centre, and I have to say was pleasantly surprised at the magnificent service.Receptionist was very helping and knew the answers to my questions, after which the lady informed me they could attend to the vehicle the same day!Excellent Service, Quality Assistance, Superb Work and Very Competitively Priced.I will be highly recommending Rapid-Tyre to everyone I know in the future, and will be using them for any further works I will ever need on my vehicle.5*

Broke down on the M5 on Friday and was rescued by the AA, who found my alternator had gone, awful news as just on our way to Cornwall for a weeks holiday, but Adam was great and I dropped the car off on the Sunday and had it back by the Monday, no other garage could fit me in, he kept me informed at all times on the progress and the price was fair, very grateful many thanks
