Beccles Fish Bar

Authentic fish and chips that are the best around. Visiting here from Australia and found these to be some of the best ever tasted anywhere. Highly recommended but get there early as queues form well before they open and it gets busy.

First time here. Monday evening ordered fish & chips. Run out of Tartar sauces although charged for them.But the main problem was the fish. It was the driest fish I’ve ever had. We couldn’t eat it. Will not be buying from there again.

Fantastic. The Service, The Chips and The Large Cod was not only Huge, was cooked perfectly to order. The Young Staff was all very pleasant and exceptionally good and polite.

Delicious traditional fish and chips which were cooked perfectly. Service was great and the prices appropriate to order. Will definitely return for another meal.

Ordered a medium cod, the size of it was tiny. Genuinely the smallest fish size I’ve ever had from a chippy before - a small square.It was extremely greasy too unfortunately.Much better chippy down the road, lesson learnt

Been to this fish and chip shop once a week for over a year. Haddock and chips open ever time.The fish the last few times just hasn't been good. The batter seems old and the fish just seems dry. I know the fish is delivered in every other day.The point is its not freshly cooked like it was. You wait over 10 minutes to be served and then get a substandard product with recently increased prices.I raised this point 2 weeks ago (over the phone), the owner than was argumentative.Last week the fish was as before nice, then this week rubbish. I drove round the block and back in to ask for a replacement from the manager / owner arguing when the fish was delivered today.He offered me refund when all I wanted was a fresh haddock to be cooked?! As I was leaving he asked I didn't return, and with that I wont. You shouldn't bury your head in the sand and listen to what customers have to say.I hope other customer get a different experience but I just feel annoyed as a loyal customer this is the service I get.To the owner - try a fresh bit of fish 2 mins out of the fryer - then leave one for 15 / 20 mins in the cabinet and try it. Thats the difference I am talking about.

Good, standard chip shop. Food was good and wait time not too long considering it was busy. Enjoyed the food and it was good value for money too.

Decent chippy, like all places prices have crept into the ridiculous. Always well cooked and tasty though.

This is my favourite Chip shop around, and believe me I have tried them all, from Diss to Beccles. And everywhere in between and I happily drive 16 miles to purchase their chips, Cod is amazing too.
