Edinburgh Spitfire Memorial

Fantastic peice of British history a must see for anyone who loves history or planes it's free to go past just outside Hampton and Edinburgh airport great photo opportunity!

A scaled down model of a spitfire greets those entering Edinburgh airport, but few appreciate that it is a memorial to the valour of those members of the 603 RAAF Squadron and the other squadrons and units associated with RAF Turnhouse, who gave their lives to the service of their country.It is accessible by paved footpath, but there is no nearby free parking.

Unbelievable disgrace that Edinburgh Airport charges people £9 just to drop off. This spitfire monument is a good alternative drop off point 5 mins walk from the airport through the carpark.
