Early morning sun, market day but few people in high street. Three tables outside with locals and a few inside on phones and reading papers. 3 staff were good and product was usual Costa. Nice.

Coffee is lovely and I love the gluten free brownie (main reason I go) but the service is shocking. Put vanilla in my latte instead of my daughter's hot chocolate and said is it ok to have that and I'll just add vanilla to the hot chocolate?" Errr no

Place was fine, sat inside which was pretty quiet apart from when coffee machine went off. Lovely chai latte and book read for my day off.

The staff at both this costa and the one by the royals work so bloody hard and, let's face it, get treated like peasants by the public. Deserve much more recognition - Would never be able to keep my cool making 101 different moccatinos with 30 onlooking Karen's waiting.

There are two Costas in Southend; today I visited the one near The Royals (further down the high street), though I have been to both cafes numerous times already.I ordered myself a Croissant and a Small Mocha. Great food as usual (I especially enjoy their seasonal Gingerbread and Vanilla & Coconut lattes), though toilets could always do with more frequent inspections/cleans. Suppose their current level of cleanliness is to be expected in any coffee shop though.

Do Costa train all their staff to be rude on purpose ! Second time I’ve used this Costa & the staff have had bad attitude. Went in at 3pm today all the front of the shop was shut off with chairs turned round, no where to sit as the only seating area was full so was told I could get takeaway or sit outside even though it was raining, was looking for a rest stop to feed my baby & I had a voucher I wanted to use, both women very rude & bad attitude, rolling eyes at each other when I asked how the voucher worked & what drinks I could get with it, absolutely disgraceful behaviour trying to make people feel stupid because they can’t be bothered to explain or help which is there job, I will be avoiding all Costas from now on the staff in Cafe Nero further down the high street where so much more friendly & accommodating.

Standard costa. Nice drinks and snacks, friendly staff. Hate that you need a receipt to go to the toilets for a code, annoying with a baby
