As a Lancashire lad I can honestly recommend this rather humble" in some respects place.. why? Because from the minute we walked in we were met with a smile and warm welcome.Great Timothy T ale

Decent enough local pub. Stopped for a couple of post cycling pints. Nowhere to store bikes other than outside on pavement and was not warm enough to sit out, but could see from window so was OK. Don’t think this is a bike crime hotspot anyway lol. £4.10 for a pint of local ale.

Took over an hour for the food to be brought out. When it was the order was wrong and had to be taken back for my daughter. My steak and ale pie had no gravy inside or any ale whatsoever. They also forgot my chips everything was very very dry. Would not recommend

Service good, staff friendly. Food , I cannot comment for myself as I wouldn’t touch it when I saw this place has a 1 star hygiene rating online as it was not shown in the window (I wonder why), family didn’t enjoy the food and the lemonade was old. Whole place is filthy. Wouldn’t eat food from a place that’s 1 star (Major Improvements Necessary) and wish I had researched it before coming in. Go elsewhere.

We went for a lovely meal at the Black swan on 25th August 2022. I had chicken breast with garlic and mushroom sauce, new potatoes, perfectly cooked purple cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and freshly roasted parsnips. We shared the veg and hubby had the steak and ale pie. All fresh cooked. No artificial flavours detected. Service was excellent and price was possibly half of what we would have expected for an equivalent dine out down south. Couldn’t fault anything. Even the toilets were good! Well done guys
