Harborne Medical Practice

Used to be such a reliable surgery, for the longest time now I cannot get an appointment - the phone booking line is abysmal, I've waited 40 mins for my call to be answered only for the call to be cut, why take on more patients if you cannot offer a service to existing ones?! I am currently looking for another surgery.

I’ve been repeatedly and dramatically let down by the treatment at this surgery - having recently moved to the area when my daughter was 5 days old, almost 100% of her routine appointments (and my own) have been cancelled at short notice with a new appointment being scheduled for 4 weeks time, only for that to be cancelled again. Many (not all) of the staff are rude and unhelpful and I just cannot believe how badly a newborn child would be prioritised. My daughter is now approaching 8 months old and still hasn’t been able to receive a full course of immunisations which makes her unnecessarily vulnerable. Really disappointed and have had to change GPs

Recently moved to the area. Nowadays anything to deal with NHS is dreadful and definitely gives you anxiety, however both times I had used Harborne Medical practice - couldn't be happier. Perhaps I was just lucky, however feel very grateful. Receptionist was very polite and useful, so did both doctors I got to see. Thank you

I don't understand what that extension has done for this place because it's certainly not made it reliable. Their new slogan should be: Better go private." Because good luck getting through to a receptionist."

Tried on several occasion to get appointment!! Was on phone 50 minutes and was No: 7 when finally through cannot get an appointment - phone back tomorrow. cannnot even give them 1 star but had to to get to port it !!!

So, it's New Year Bank Holiday and I've just called the surgery and they have an August Bank Holiday message on their answerphone.Just really sums this surgery up. No CARE whatsoever.It would take me all day to write down their incompetence. The latest being, calling after waiting 6 months for a scan appointment, to be told, the request was sent back from the hospital within a week and it had just sat there for 6 months!!!!!It used to be a fantastic surgery now it has horrendous reviews. I'm changing doctors .You really need to sort your practice out.

A friend of mine had an appointment at this surgery due to being off work with terrible ongoing knee pain, the doctor said this is “normal at this age” (23!!) and was unwilling to look into the issue further. The appointment lasted 5 minutes. This just isn’t good enough.

AVOID THIS SURGERY! If you are lucky and manage to book an appointment, the doctors will try to manipulate you and change your mind in order to avoid prescribing you any medicine to relieve your symptoms. A disgrace!

After waiting in the countdown queue and continuously listening to the drawn out recorded message, no one answers the phone? I waited a further 20 minutes as caller number 1 and had to give up in the end, the reception does not want to answer the phone.Whenever I have seen or spoken to a GP I’ve always had excellent service.
