Came in for breakfast as we were passing. First thing to point out is the red haired girl with braces on the bar, she really shouldn't be working in customer service or she desperately needs more training! Robotic and unhelpful. Refused to swap out black pudding and beans on breakfast for a few extra mushrooms which we found strange, never have issues anywhere else. Experience after that was great, breakfast food all tasted lovely, compliments to the chef. Would consider returning if the staff were more accommodating for the customers.

The pub next door had nice friendly staff for dinner. The menu offered a good choice and well priced. The food was delish.The hotel staff were lovely and really friendly. The room was perfect.My only criticism was the waiting time for breakfast the next day. It was lovely but took 35mins for a full english. There was a festival on, so it was busy but everyone was waiting for long periods and getting food at different times. Worth a visit and value for money.

Can't comment on the rooms/hotel as only popped in for a few pints and some food on a Sunday evening.Bar-service was great and everyone behind the jump was friendly and helpful. It's a Holt's and that is reflected in the selection of drinks, which isn't necessarily a bad thing! There is a decent menu (I had the lasagne, which was very nice indeed), including special deals. Though, there is possibly better way (a bell?) to get the food from the kitchen to the floor than that old shout of Service!" ("yes

Disappointing stay at this hotel. Room was dirty (hairs in the bath) and in a state of disrepair. Reception staff are hardly ever there if you have any issues. The pub staff were rude and unprofessional and the management team ignore your feedback and comments.Rooms were not at all like the photos advertised. We found mould patches on the walls as well as patches on the walls where things had been removed and not filled in or plastered over. There was also hair in the bath when we arrived…not very pleasant especially when children have to use it.Breakfast in the pub was a let down - both the food and service. We walked into the pub at 8.55am as the doors were open (breakfast was meant to be served from 9am). There were no staff around and when someone finally appeared we were practically told off for coming in before 9am and told we would have to wait as the tills weren’t in yet and the chef hadn’t even arrived (!).It’s a shame because the pub itself is so nicely decorated but the staff and the hotel rooms really let the place down.Really poor value for money and we won’t be returning !

Read the previous reviews and was dubious. What a gem of a place, staff super friendly, great food, I had pulled beef flat bread with sweet potatoes fries delicious and just what the dr ordered. Mellow atmosphere and while there are tv’s in the bar these are not intrusive. I am staying near by and this pub is so much better than the hotel bar . This will definitely be my local during my stay.

Food was lovely and fresh, place was very clean and tidy. Upon entering we were welcomed and took our order at the bar, food arrived quickly, we made a change to our order which was no hassle. Loads of space and no reservations required. Mixed grill was cooked perfectly and curry was also delicious. Ontop kids ice cream was very good portion. Hope to visit again soon

Nice well done out bar. But London price's, not what I expected. I know village pubs charge more than town pubs but seems a bit over the odds. Staff were lovely nice place to be

Rooms are decent, it’s an old premier inn. Had an ‘Ultimate’ burger and it was pretty bad! How they can charge nearly £15 it I’ll never know. It was over cooked and dry. Possibly the worst burger I’ve had and I’ve eaten in some questionable places! Rooms are worth it but I’d eat elsewhere!

Nice clean n tidy hotel, lovely bar, friendly staff and the quality of food was great. Been there a couple of times and it's been good.Food n drink is quite pricey, but good quality so I guess you get what you pay for.Excellent position for a stop over for long journeys.
