Our 15 year old son has really benefited from his Saturday morning Karate sessions. It has helped with his confidence, coordination and social interaction skills as well as getting him out of bed on a Saturday morning!. Under Ben’s guidance he is progressing towards his yellow belt. Highly recommended!

I joined the club a year ago with my son and can wholeheartedly recommend it. Sensei Ben combines clarity of instruction, high expectation and variety to ensure he gets the most out of each of us in every session. The sessions are great for both adults and children, as Ben is able to adapt training to suit all ages and abilities. Rich and Toby

My daughter has a fantastic time training with the club. Ben, the Sensei, is able to get the best out of all of his students with an engaging and professionally delivered syllabus. He is generous with his time and all are made to feel valued in his lessons. My daughter is now working towards her D of E and Ben and the club are fully supporting her in working towards the physical element of the award. Learning techniques, sparring, and new traditions under the guidance of Ben mean that she is excited to return each week.I can wholeheartedly recommend this club.

It was a delight to find this well organised and family friendly martial arts club. Not only does Sensei Ben Mills teach in a really pleasing and enjoyable way but his syllabus covers not only the traditional style of karate but also encompasses the needs of dealing effectively with everyday unsavoury situations.I recommend that you should visit the website to learn some more information then go along to one of the club sessions, I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

The Dojo is run very well with a great family atmosphere. It's a very friendly and welcoming environment, which both my sons (10,11) have really enjoyed. The structure of the sessions, the guidance provided, and the kind nature of the Sensei has really helped them gain more focus, respect, and drive to want to self-improve which has helped outside of the club in school and at home. They both gained their first grading recently and that achievement has been a milestone in their lives.10/10- I couldn't rate it higher than a 10 or I would!!

My son has been part of the Bushido Wado-Ryu Karate Club family since he was 5 years old. Starting with Sensei Laziz's after school clubs and since lockdown training with Sensei Ben. Since training with Ben, my son's confidence, fitness and technique has raised to a whole new level! Along with the superb technical, mental and physical training Ben provides; his training sessions are fun, meaningful to everyday life & child centred. Ben takes the extra time with each student to ensure they are excelling at their own level - he instils resilience, determination & courage (he does in my son anyway!). Finally, one thing I love as a parent, I hear Ben explain WHY they are learning each move, brilliant when they are learning/practising katas!

I personally have experienced a fair few martial arts clubs in my time, I did Shotokan Karate for around 12 years (about 15 years ago). I stopped when my old Sensei stopped teaching as I could never find another that I felt matched his quality of teaching. Now as a mother with two young daughters, I felt it was really important to get them some training in martial arts so I looked for a Karate class as that's what I know. Originally it was for them alone but I found myself instantly wanting to join in too. Ben not only rivals my Sensei from years ago but dare I say he may be much better!Ben's knowledge of Karate is that of a true master of the art. I feel like you can ask him anything and he will know the answer. Whether it's to do with the history of Karate, or you want to know how a particular move in a Kata would apply to a real life self defence situation, he knows the answer. With previous Karate classes that I have trialled, there have been a lot of teachers that will teach you a move and tell you exactly how it should be carried out, but they have no idea what it's actually for.At these classes, adults and children are welcome at all levels. I felt quite self conscious at first thinking I'd be the only adult but that wasn't the case. I also worried that after so many years of not doing Karate and certainly not being particularly fit anymore, I'd make a fool of myself! This wasn't the case at all (I may be making a fool of myself in the class but if I am I am certainly not made to feel that way!) The atmosphere that is promoted by Ben is a positive one, where questions are always welcome, and we are all there to help and guide eachother.Apologies for the long review but I really feel that Sensei Ben is deserving of it. Whether you are looking to get into martial arts for the first time or are looking to get back into it, don't hesitate! Just do it, you won't regret it.

I signed my son up to this karate club at the beginning of the year in the hope that it would help with his anxiety and it has. Ben has been fantastic with him, always ready with the right words to spur him on. My son loves the class and I've watched his confidence quickly grow, as well has his fitness and ability. This club is always friendly and welcoming and I would absolutely recommend it to anybody considering taking up karate or furthering their skills.

My son really enjoys his karate training sessions and it has helped him progress both physically and mentally. Ben is a very intuitive Sensei who genuinely wants every student to reach their full potential. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend.
