Sedgewell Barn

Sedgewell Barn was undoubtedly our dream wedding venue, which we instantly fell in love with when we were shown around, and we booked immediately! The barns are set against the beautiful rolling hills of North Yorkshire which make a gorgeous setting for our wedding photos.One thing that we loved about the venue is that you are able to completely decorate it yourself and completely customise all aspects to your theme and personality. We had a September wedding, so we decorated both inside and outside the barns in an autumnal rustic style.We had 60 wedding guests, so we had our ceremony in the cosy rustic barn, and had our wedding breakfast and evening entertainment in the celebration barn. One thing that also instantly attracted us to the venue was that there are numerous places for guests to spread out, including a byre barn where we set up the bar, which has a lovely seating area so guests are able to relax away from the main area if they require.The whole team at Sedgewell Barn were wonderful, friendly and helpful. Catherine was incredible from day one and made us feel very special, and Ellen did an amazing job at coordinating all our suppliers, helping the day run smoothly, and making us feel at ease.We had so many compliments about the venue from our guests, and Sedgewell Barn definitely made our dream wedding become a reality.

We were blown away by Sedgewell Barn as a wedding venue on our first visit there. The barns had everything we were looking for in a wedding venue and we loved the idea of glamping with family and friends before the wedding, giving us a full weekend of celebrations.We were Sedgewell Barn’s first ever wedding and we are so grateful to Catherine and Stuart for pulling out all the stops to ensure we had our dream day. Not only was the barn beautiful on the day, but Catherine and Ellen helped us plan a wedding in less than 6 months! They were able to recommend some fantastic suppliers and we’re so grateful that this part was made so easy for us, as we are aware of how stressful that could have been with our short timescales. Every one of these suppliers were fantastic on the day and we’d highly recommend them all to future couples at Sedgewell Barn.Sedgewell Barn’s blank canvas provided us with a unique opportunity to design our wedding exactly how we wanted. Catherine and Ellen supported all of our ideas and helped us finalise our timeline and coordinate suppliers. We filled the big barn with a race track and games, chose our own layout for our wedding breakfast, chose the chairs we liked, decorated the barn with waterfall fairy lights and even held a pub quiz! As the barns are so pretty as they are, we felt we needed to do very little to decorate them, saving us money and giving us more time to focus on other aspects of the wedding.The barns’ surroundings are incredibly picturesque and our photographer captured some beautiful photos in the cornfields. The courtyard was landscaped beautifully and made for a wonderful confetti reception and all of the facilities had been finished to a great standard including the bar. Sedgewell Barn’s location is incredibly serene which makes it perfect for such an intimate occasion.We could not be happier with how our wedding day went and we’re so grateful to everyone at Sedgewell Barn for helping us pull off our dream day!

We stayed in one of the Wigwams at Sedgewell barn. Couldn’t fault it. Will definitely be returning. Amazing!

We got married at Sedgewell Barn in July and it was truly incredible from the moment we booked. We had the venue and wigwams for the entire weekend and every single member of the team went above and beyond to make sure we had the most perfect weekend and wedding day. The venue is a great size for all weddings - big or small! The recommended suppliers were fantastic and the day went without a hitch. Lots of our guests said it was the best wedding/wedding venue they had been to. Thank you so much for making our day so special.
