Years ago I would cycle here from Botesdale on a regular basis as it is such a beautiful building to sit in. You don't have to be religious to admire the spectacular architecture both externally and internally. Grade one listed. Very prominent 13th century building with a good 100ft square tower which is farely intricately faced in flint, brick and ashlar looks like columns. With an original 13th century carved wooden door. And beautiful stained glass arched windows.Internally has some amazing blue and gold vaulted bits atop of columns, that stretches from one side to the other. Is this the 15th century rood screen? I'm not sure. But it's truly awe inspiring whatever it is. And beautiful 15th century painted panels of female looking saints along with Henry 6th. Along with a couple of 15th century alter tombs.Has a wonderful octagonal carved stone font with a very peculiar gold structure held up by wee columns above it.A lovely cemetery over the road from it.One of England's hidden gems!Next door is Eye's wood framed wattle and daub Guildhall. In close proximity to Eye's Castle, a victorian folly ruins sat atop of the original castle hill dating back to the Angelo Saxons era and used up until the 17th century as a prison. Also not far from Botesdale, Rickinghall and Diss.Nearest station is Diss. Roughly 4 miles away.

Sadly, I was unable to go inside the church as it was locked (I imagine due to Covid). Nonetheless, a lovely looking church. Some amazing architectural structure as you enter the grounds from the right of the tower. It was a shame I couldn't enter. As I feel I would have even more impressed by the interior.
