Just had yet another rave review from one of my landlords for the work Oakfield Renovations have completed for us at Sarah Clark Property Consultants. Very fortunate to work with Steve and his team as they are always reliable, trustworthy and professional. I can highly recommend them.

Oakfield installed our Schmidt Kitchen to a high standard so I thought I would be in safe hands in asking them to install some bespoke bedroom furniture. How wrong could I have been!Their quote and specification of finish for works was good but targeted start date of end January 2023 got missed. Eventually a contract was signed in May, 50% deposit paid and revised start of date of June was agreed per contract.Oakfield lost a key member of staff but were not forthcoming in this detail, when start date of June was missed. A revised date of September was agreed but this was cancelled the night before work was due to start with promise of starting following week.No one from Oakfield turned up on date advised. Calls to Steve Shoesmith and emails have subsequently been unanswered yet they have still retained my 50% deposit, leaving me to pursue recompense with my credit card company!Utterly appalling behaviour from what was a respected company that is now clearly in some trouble. Avoid.

We have used Oakfield renovations for a number of years , most recently an side extension and new kitchen installation.Steve and the team are very experienced and have consistently delivered a high standard of work. Communication is clear as are the costings. Would definitely use again and happily recommend them to others.

Just had a patio and decking area installed by Oakfield renovations. Very pleased with the results. Steve and his team were very professional and committed and delivered on time and within budget.Would not hesitate in recommending them.

Steve and his team did our garden trellising along with some repointing of our garden wall also some tiling in our kitchen and patio area.They did a brilliant job. I found them them to be courteous. reliable and trustworthy. Was kept informed throughout and everything came in on budget.Can't recommend them enough!

Awful, unreliable and not very good at what they are supposed to do. Communications and customer service spectacularly bad, quality of work dismal. We asked them to leave and we are patient people. Avoid at all costs. I wish there was an option here for zero stars!

Steve installed our kitchen and did some structural changes back in 2016. It was when looking up his website to recommend to a friend that I realised I'd not previously left a review.Steve's work, and that of his sub-contractors, is absolutely first class and light years ahead of the standards of the building contractor who fitted our previous kitchen. Steve is intelligent, thoughtful, trustworthy and flexible and was happy with us supplying the units and appliances which we had already sourced when we first contacted him. I'd have no hesitation in recommending him (and in fact just have!).

I try my best to never write negative reviews, but the awful experience that I have had with Oakfield Renovations compels me to warn everyone away from ever using this highly unprofessional company. The facts are these: we were told they could complete a renovation within 5 days, of our very small kitchen. Of course, we all know that this is never the reality, but our renovation ended up taking over 2 and a half months with these people, and in the end they were fired before “completing” it (more on that later). That is 2 and a half months without any oven, hob, or sink to wash dishes in. Of course this could be excused if there were genuine problems with the renovation and they were showing up regularly, but the reason this took so incredibly long is because: they didn’t show up for one month altogether (and ignored efforts to contact them to get things moving); over the course of the job they worked increasingly shorter hours (only 3 hours a day, on more than one occasion, and using up our visitor parking permits for less and less progress); and finally they usually only sent one person, who seemed to do little work as it was, as very little was ever accomplished, even considering such a short working day. All of these behaviours contributed to a general feeling that they did not care in the slightest about our comfort or the quality of their work. When they were fired from the project there was a long list of concerns with the quality of the little they had done (tiling, cabinetry, and particularly the painting has been done to a very low standard of quality), which were validated by the individuals brought on to clean up and finally complete their mess. Oakfield Renovations were given chance upon chance to redeem themselves and finally act in a professional manner, but their unwillingness to accept responsibility for their (many) mistakes was a deciding factor in their long overdue removal from the project
