Having been looking for a 2020 diary at the big supermarkets, Tesco, Asda etc and also the local Co-op I returned to Central news where I got this year's diary from. At last.....a no nonsense diary, I'll probably be back next year for my 2021 diary.On another note, whilst waiting to be served there was a little old lady being served at the head of the queue. Although the shop was busy the assistant was prepared to spend time chatting to the old lady who seemed in no hurry to leave. At first I was irritated but then just moved to another till to pay. I realised that this contact for the old lady may have been her only contact for the whole day, maybe the assistant had realised this too? But that's the kind of shop this is, if only more assistants were prepared to take the time with the elderly

Brilliant and always have a great selection of cards and xmas cards and Birthday cards

I’m a regular customer at Central New and Cards, but today they went above and beyond their usual friendly service. I was making a purchase for £5.80, but the staff member pointed out that I could get exactly what I wanted for a cheaper purchase of £2.20, thus saving me £3.60. I can’t think of many shops that would do themselves out of a bit extra cash.

Small non-chain newsagents and gift shop. Helpful staff and a good range of products in a prime location.
