Forest Hill Road Group Practice

Unfortunately… a poor surgery. Everything’s done digitally and so very impersonal. Very long wait for appointments. Disorganised admin staff. Even now as I’ve changed surgeries they’ve still not transferred my records a across, 3 weeks later.

Have had nothing but good experiences from the staff and the conjoining day Lewis pharmacy. The staff go above and beyond to manage how they can with the resources they have. They deserve so much more funding than they currently receive. I have had many issues with conjoining services and today Jasmine one of the staff on reception personally called my clinic to tell them they had sent the wrong document because I had been telling the clinic for a long time. Anytime I have an issue they listen and try their best to resolve it. I had an emergency the day before my first day of work and they managed to send it to a pharmacy near my place of work so I could access it and felt better on my first day. They work so hard and deserve more recognition.

Most GP surgeries are pretty bad with the 8AM phone call lottery to get an appointment but this place is one of the worst we’ve ever had.If you actually manage to connect on the phone, you have to explain your symptoms to a non medically trained teenage receptionist for them to essentially judge whether you’re worthy of an appointment. Even if you get an appointment it is rarely in person as they prefer to do everything over the phone rather than physically talking and looking at you. Prescriptions take days to get sent over, they send you to other centres for basic services as they don’t have nurses, their ‘wait and see’ approach has resulted in our 7 month old daughter ending up in hospital for a week.It’s no wonder hospitals and A&E departments are completely overrun when you have GP surgeries like this unwilling or incapable of providing the most basic of services.

It's like bleeding a stone to get an appointment and the eConsult thing is a joke. It's as if they - the system - wants you sick, stressed and just give up. Doctors need to step up and get their act together. They are here to SERVE the people - and this means face to face contact, talking to people, not hide behind some AI.

Would avoid GP surgery, makes me not want to ask for help.• Consistently unorganised staff• significant back and forth resulting in exceedingly painful waiting times that are over the scope of what to expect at a normal practice• lack of consideration and careIf you are considering, would suggest to register elsewhere, even if a little further. Stress inducing practice and creates more issues.

I’ve had cancer, 2 miscarriages and 2 surgeries all in the last 12 months and still haven’t managed to book an appointment with this practice.They are beyond bad now and into positively evil territory.

I haven’t left a review before but I would implore people to avoid this GP practice. I am leaving to find another one. They’re struggling to provide appointments, if they do see you it’s over the phone only, their reception team often made me feel worse, and generally seem to have a lot of problems.

Forest Hill GP is the WORST GP I have ever been to. Their reception team service is appalling - they make loads of mistakes in booking and always transfer all sorts of regular health check-ins- ie. baby vaccinations or smear tests to other group practices. They would hang your phone up while you're trying to make appointments. They would double book you the same appointment twice on different dates. They even would book you a Saturday appointment, yet the practice is not opening on Sats!  I wonder why there is no system in place for this practice to reflect on or improve their services at all.

I think the staff are allergic to answering the phone. The econsult form closes everyday after about 30minutes. I get anxious of getting ill because of FHRGP. It genuinely makes me want the whole system to become an insurance based model.

Admittedly it is hit and miss here with the admin staff. Leaving a 5 star due to the way the last receptionist handled my enquiry. She was empathetic and organised. She was obviously older and had lived experience. I recommend hiring older people (like her) for the front line work on the phones. A kid fresh out of college is just not going to have the right lived experience to manage the kind of calls that come through. The clinical staff are great and doing the best they can.
