REVIEW ON R56 Mini Cooper Hybrid KO4We recently had one of our customers inquiring for a turbo upgrade that would make more torque and hp over the existing hybrid setup while maintaining same spool and torque in the lower rpm range. We came across Turbotechnics unit in the past on a bolt on install on a stock motor but no feedback on what potential it has on a setup a like with upgraded fuelling support and boost by gear setup. We reached out to sales team and further discussed with Ryan on all available options for the K04 unit. We ended up going with the largest spec K04 option. Order arrived within a week.First impression on the visual appearance, product showed a good quality assembly with a very clean machined finish. Hot-side casting and wg components looked similar to what we used to see on a Genuine BW turbo. We got this unit fitted with same approach as we do on our full frame turbo install, but bolt on to OEM Exhaust Manifold. Got the car on the Dyno, made corrections to the software, and results exceeded our expectations. At 1.7bar managed 345whp and 310w-ftlbs torque! In full boost at 3400rpm!End results, very happy customer. So far few autocross sessions, feedback from our customer came with positive news and complements for a winning setup!Looking forward to use this product again! Purchased an S280 kit for a Ford Fiesta ST. Kit came well packaged to the US, and had absolutely everything I needed for an easy swap. Couldn’t be more happy with the company. Very costly to repair and after paying the turbo didn’t get delivered for days so had to chase up and found that they had put the wrong postcode on the label, so lost a few days waiting for the turbo come till address was adjusted. Also had to buy a new diver yet valve and downpipe gasket myself which I wasn’t expecting for the price. The turbo was only put on brand new around 8000 miles ago so was shocked to see it needed repairing already and didn’t feel like the customer service was great either.

Very disappointed with the service provided from turbo technics, after buying a replacement turbo for my Volkswagen transporter 2.5. Fitting it and running it for no more than 30 minutes (on tick over to allow engine to warm) only to find the turbo was very noisy when the engine was revved up. Turbo technics wanted a further £200+ to repair a newly supplied turbo that was only fitted for a day and did zero miles, they had the turbo back for inspection and I was told It had failed due to carbon build up from oil that was just changed, which after many conversations they’d said it was because it was oil starved when started, I pre filled the turbo and turned engine over before initial start up, they then sent over pictures (see below) of which I questioned as the turbo they had supplied had a 6 sided nut but the pictures sent showed a 12 sided nut, to be told that it wasn’t my turbo. After further conversations with turbo technics they offered to repair the turbo I’d just bought for a further £90 which I had no choice but to pay as my van was on a ramp at work where it had been for almost a week. The salesman wasn’t very helpful at all!!Following reply,I put the correct oil in according to the Manufacturers specification when fitting the first turbo and following the managers advise I used oil recommended when fitting the second turbo.

Brilliant service would highly recommend.Contacted them on Monday about diagnosing a fault with my Turbo, they picked it up from my home on Tuesday, sent the report on Wednesday and sorted payment from the warranty company. Really happy, can't fault them - thank you.

I first used these guys 19 years back for a rebuild on a Toyota celica gt4 st205 turbo that nobody wanted to touch and Toyota wanted 2.5k to replace.I still own that same car and its still running on that original rebuild done by turbo technics and its now done more miles than the original factory fitted turbo .So when I had a damaged turbo on my landrover discovery 3 2.7 v6 it was a no brainer to use them again and the call was made and arrangements for pickup the next day .I was quoted for the rebuild and given a turn around time of 5 days and gave them the go ahead and then received a call from them to take payment 4 days later.Exactly 5 days later the turbo arrived well packed and boxed with the vibration reports and balance report and looked like a brand new unitIncluded was everything needed to refit the turbo bolts ,gaskets and nuts etc .Got the turbo fitted and primed it with oil then took the disco for a spin the turbo performed faultlessly .The service these guys provide is simply second to none and yep it could have been done slightly cheaper and a day or so faster by one of the many turbo rebuilders thst have sprung up but the turbo replacement on the disco 3 is a horrible time consuming and awkward job that involves lots of swear words and scraped knuckles do I had to have a unit that I was confident in being right for a fit and forget so it was a no brainer to go to turbo technics.The proof of the pudding is in the eating and 19 years of abuse and hard driving in a high powered car the original rebuild is still running strong is proof enough for me .I cannot recommend these guys enough they say what they will do and they do it and to a degree of satisfaction that exceeds your expectations .I will not use anyone other than these guys for anything turbo related from advice to work done thryvsre where its at .You won't be disappointedI've added a couple of photos of the mentioned jobs and a shot of the original job from 19 years back.As a side note looking at some of the negative reviews on here you gotta understand turbo technics have no control of the fitting once it leaves their possession and if turbos are incorrectly fitted they can and will destroy themselves so utmost care should be taken when refitting in paticular cleanliness.This is an honest world review and I have no connection with these guys except as a customer

I already had a Turbo Technics intake hose, of which the aluminium breather coupler had gone missing in storage.I called TT up assuming they’d only want to sell me a whole new hose. But, a specific shout out to Joe, who went to the effort of sourcing and posting this item out for me, all within a day of contacting them.The customer service provided has been amongst the best I’ve experienced and makes me proud to have British manufacturers like this still trading!
