Patisserie Valerie - Canterbury
Had a lovely afternoon tea with my husband. We don't get much alone time as we both work and have two daughters. The food was lovely, service so relaxed and friendly and I want to give a big shout out to Charlie, Robbie and KC for the giggles. The chef made a beautiful afternoon tea with warm scones, yummy sandwiches, and the cakes we got to take home went down well with the girls. Great value for money you can't go wrong. Xx

We visited Patisserie Valerie for the first time ever today after being gifted a voucher for an afternoon tea for 2. The food was so delicious and we were both so impressed. The place was quite busy and there were only 2 staff members holding down the Fort when we arrived but even though they were both so busy, Daniel still helped to take our order and took time to check if any of the products on the afternoon tea contained hazelnuts as I am allergic. I have to commend the staff and their manager for their hard work and professionalism despite being so busy and having several customers asking for various things during their visit. We will definitely be coming back to Patisserie Valerie soon!

Food is way overpriced for tiny portions and bland taste. The fruit tasted of perfume and everything had no flavor. The coffee also took 15-20 min to be made. They also denied me loyalty program benefits even though the signs are all over the tables.

So, my husband and I had an afternoon tea voucher bought for us by our daughter which we used today. I don't usually leave reviews but the service we had today was 1st class from the minute we walked in until the minute we left. Both Razika and Robbie were polite, friendly and attentive. The afternoon tea itself was lovely with copious amounts of tea. There was plenty of food for two, in fact we had to bring some home with us. If you are thinking of doing afternoon tea in Canterbury choose Patisserie Valerie, you won't be disappointed. Well done to all the team and thank you for a wonderful experience. We wouldn't hesitate to return.

Brought my daughter in for her birthday. Stood at the door for ages as it said ‘wait to be seated’. Then was told to take a seat and someone would come over. 15 minutes later we went to the counter to order as no one came near or by, then to be told ‘someone will take your order at the table’. Another 15 minutes and no one came to take our order, so we got up and left. It was late afternoon and the place was empty, so no idea what the problem was. The table next to us got one hot drink and waited ages for the other, which was wrong when it finally appeared. We Love Patisserie Valerie and never have a problem in Bromley. Great staff and a lovely atmosphere, unlike the Canterbury one! Dissatisfied and disappointed.

Been here over 10 times, it just gets worse and worse.One day card machine doesn't work, another food is not served because chef didn't bother coming in, another day the food takes over an hour to come.Food is not consistent and the staff looks shabby not well trained either.This place is far off the company standards of Patisserie Valerie.Cleaning is poor and I saw members of the staff cleaning the cutleries with an apron, in particular the red haired boy.Tables are dirty and not cleaned regularly.If I see this on the floor, I can only imagine what goes behind the kitchen, so bad.I hope all of it gets sorted, might come back in few months, for now avoid like the plague.

The cake and coffee is great. The problem is that there is not enough staff. There is only one staff member doing all the coffee and till for the whole place. Two serving staff… its like management is not bothered and throwing the poor staff to the wolves. Get more staff! You are a nationwide chain charging higher prices so the experience should reflect this.

Came in for a quick coffee and a piece of cake, the service seemed all nice until we received our coffees only to realise that the service in this place is terrible and it all comes down to one person unfortunately. This elderly lady with glasses came over giving our coffees, we received our coffees without plates or spoons as you can see the lattes, the hot chocolate was the only one given with. My mum asked this lady for some sugars and spoons and she brings back a a singular long spoon and the sugars to which we asked her politely if we could get more for the other lattes as there was 4 of us in total, she turn back to grab them but decides she would like to make comments out loud telling us to calm down like we even said anything we should of have, the attitude given by this staff was rude and very disrespectful to use towards customers. I shall not be returning due to this poor service, shame to say one person can ruin it all.
