Camel Studio

Camel Studio is an absolute gem of a venue! I photographed a wedding here at the end of a week's holiday with my family down in Camelford and I was really impressed by what I saw. The outdoor ceremony with the rolling hills in the background was beautiful. The main indoor area where we ate and danced looked so cool- like a an art gallery and beautifully decorated. I'm not sure where to begin with all of the thank you's as every single person at camel Studio put in 110% to make our day better than we could have ever hoped for.The second we arrived on Friday it almost felt like coming home for the weekend, it was so welcoming and easy to fall into all of the decorating we had ahead of us. Helen especially went above and beyond to get us the extra stakes for the arch which I'm so grateful for. And Dave's food was amazing! To quote Eleanor (one of my bridesmaids) 'The best bangers and mash I've ever had!'.Jess was so lovely and even though I felt very tearful on the morning she has a really calming and smiley presence which helped to keep the nerves away.The Bar staff were great, especially when having to serve lots of very chatty people!The whole day ran so smoothly thanks to Helen, Jess and every one of the Camel Studio team who worked tirelessly behind the scenes.A truely wonderful day to remember. There isn’t a thing I would change.

What a beautiful place to have the fairy-tale wedding of your dreams. Helen and Dave hosted our wedding on 4th June 2022 at their venue which can only be described as breath-taking. We had the whole venue to ourselves for our special day; the accommodation, the Studio, the honeymoon suite and of course the grounds with stunning views. Helen & Dave gave us their full attention, time and help to create our dream day and nothing was too much trouble for them. We had the wonderful Horsebox Pizza Oven to provide our evening menu, cooked by Dave himself, which were delicious. Set up was easy as the Studio is a beautiful blank canvas for us to add our chosen wedding decor. A fantastic outside area with pretty lighting and furniture all set up for our guests to enjoy, along with a firepit which we used for toasting marshmallows. Helen & Dave have thought of everything to add special touches to your day, allowing you the time to absorb yourself in the magic and romance. We also had a welcome meal for our wedding party on the Friday night before the wedding, cooked again by Dave himself. We can honestly say it was the best meal we had tasted in a long time. Helen is a fantastic host and takes pride in her venue and work and this shines through from your first visit to when its time to leave. Thank you Helen and Dave for a perfect stay and such a special day.

We had the most amazing wedding weekend at Camel Studio. The venue itself is so beautiful; stylish but not too 'done' that you can't make it your own and intimate whilst having everything you need for a small wedding or elopement. We particularly liked that everything was on site including the cottage which we used for our bridal party as well as the bridal suite. We also loved the large, outdoor space with wonderful views. Helen and David were the loveliest; really down to earth, accommodating and supportive of our ideas. When we first met Helen we didn't feel like we were being sold to which makes a change when you are organising a wedding! Also we have to give Dave's pizzas a mention - our guests are still talking about how good they were! We would not hesitate to recommend Camel Studio!!!

We got married here in June, and everything exceeded our expectations! From the moment we arrived it was perfect. The welcome meal on the Friday evening was so amazing, the food was delicious and it was so lovely to be able to relax at the venue the night before without having to worry about finding somewhere to eat!Helen went out of her way to make the wedding day run so smoothly and took away any last minute stress. Helen was great helping me throughout the planning process, providing a list of recommended suppliers which was so helpful as we are not local to Cornwall.The venue is beautiful, with every detail thought of! It is so picturesque, and getting married overlooking the camel valley is difficult to beat! Dave’s pizzas are amazing on an evening, all our guests commented on them!The house and the bridal cabin add something special to the venue. Having our family stay at the venue was great having everyone close by!All I can say is, if you are considering Camel Studio for your wedding, do not hesitate, it was even better than I could have imagined.

After 20 years together and finally deciding to tie the knot we started to think about all the things we wanted in a venue.Small for our closest friends and family.Luxurious accommodation for our wedding party to stay over the weekend.Intimate so that everyone could be together.Beautiful backdrop that represented the Cornish countryside for our photos.A cosy blank canvas inside so that we could decorate and make it our own style.Romantic outdoor lighting for summer evening chillingThe opportunity to bring in our own caters so that we could eat exactly what we wanted.A bar with a good amount of options for our guests.Evening space for live music and dancingWe researched 5 or 6 venues within Cornwall and made our first appointment which was to Camel Studio in February 2022 on a cold and blustery day.As we drove into the property we were blown away by the rolling hills and remarkable scenery that just went on for miles and despite the wind and rain we could picture how beautiful the property would look in the summer.Helen was there to greet us on arrival and spent the time taking us around the accommodation (including the gorgeous hidden shepherds hut) and venue, getting to know us and giving us tips on what we could do to make our dream wedding come true.We left Camel Studio that day and didn’t go to any other venue, when you have found the one then you just know.From that day forward Helen kept in regular contact with us, she gave us a list of proven suppliers as a starting point should we wish to use them. She replied to every message and query promptly and she just made everything easy and stress free.The weekend of June 23rd 2022 came and it was quite honestly the best weekend ever. We arrived on Friday to a beautiful hamper and spent the day lazing in the sun with our family, enjoying the quality time. Dave cooked us a delicious meal in the evening and we were just buzzing waiting for the big day. When it arrived Helen and Dave made sure everything ran smoothly, they entertained and looked after our guests, making everyone feel welcome. They had everything covered, so even when the rain started half way through our ceremony they already had a beautiful undercover space prepped for us to move into.The whole thing was just absolutely perfect, so much so that I’m looking back now 5 months later and wondering if it's too early to be able to book again to renew my vows.Thank you Helen and Dave it was the most loving, beautiful weekend xxxxx

What a magical place! We had the most amazing time celebrating our wedding here with all our friends and family! The studio is perfectly stylish, the house is heavenly and the gardens are gorgeous!Helen and Dave are the most brilliant hosts - kind, generous and brilliant pizza chefs! Cannot recommend the Camel Studio enough!

From the very first time we spoke to Helen and Dave at Camel Studio, we knew that we had found something special.Not only is the Venue itself magical, with views straight out of a fairytale - Helen and Dave truly and genuinely care about making each wedding run perfectly.It makes sense for us to start by saying that as newly wedded wives - we don't often agree on much - but booking Camel Studio for our Sept 2022 wedding was an immediate yes for both of us.The venue is out of this world - with a blank canvas that you can dress up as much or as little as you want. This was perfect, as we loved the idea of having a relaxed and rustic sort of affair. The space is ideal size wise too - allowing us to celebrate alongside 45 of our nearest and dearest.The house on-site is stunning, and we can't wait to hopefully book in again one day to stay. The main bedroom has a bed to die for, and every single room has been decorated to perfection.Having the venue exclusively to ourselves, with the welcome meal on Friday was such a special touch. We had all of our best friends stay on-site with us and it was just wonderful to relax together before and after the main event!Helen made sure that no request was ever too much - and although we probably hassled her with requests that were trivial - she was always there with a big smile and reams of advice. She made planning our wedding that bit less stressful. In addition to this, having the added bonus of Hazel - the wedding co-ordinator - was such a spectacular part of the package. Between Helen, Hazel and Dave we can honestly say we weren't worried at all. They allowed us to relax and enjoy the day to the fullest.If we could get married all over again, at Camel Studio - we would do it tomorrow.Thank you - you made our wedding dreams come true, and we genuinely feel like we have made valued friends for life.Any couple lucky enough to book Camel Studio is guaranteed to have a spectacular day.- Meghan & Demi Ridout.

Firstly a big thank you to Helen and Dave! Helen was fantastic at going through what we needed to know and keeping in touch.We just don't think the website does the venue enough justice as we were stunned when we saw this in person- amazing views!The venue is beautiful and can be transformed to however you wish. Included in the fees was a beautiful place to stay with room for family and friends and everything you need is there (Including steam irons for dresses!) A fab room specifically for getting ready on the morning of. The bridal suite is very sweet and overlooks the rolling fields. Helen couldn't do enough for us and was available at all times. There were lovely touches throughout including a hamper for us to take and Helen also picked us up some forgotten cutlery while we were setting up. They finalised and confirmed all details with the suppliers, were always available for recommendations and advice. The venue has separate areas but it all flows really beautifully. We made use of the table tennis table and firepit.The dinner offered the night before the wedding was amazing and all of our guests loved it!Overall this had everything we could have asked for and we couldn't have wished for a better day with our family and friends.
