Battle Museum of Local History

Lovely little museum, free but donations taken. All the information you'd want from the battle, lots of interesting things to see.

A wonderful little museum with really nice people. It is for free and the guide working there is such a nice and entertaining person. We really had fun and learned a lot about Battle. Our kids could even try some medieval stuff and had lots of fun. Huge recommendation by us.

Awesome little museum, full of local treasures, there's a wealth of history in the area and they've got a lot of it here, there's lots of information available, guiding you through the ages and it's free!! The people who run the museum are lovely and very helpful, this museum relies on donations and it's definitely worth it.

Great little gem. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. And we'd have never knew it holds the only ever to fund artifact of the 1066 battlefield

An outstanding and unique compilation of the brilliant local history of the area.Immediately as we walked through the door, we were greeted by not one but 2 smiling and joyful staff members who welcomed us to the museum. The museum was free to enter, unlike certain other local sights, and is the most fantastic value for money, money can't buy! We were offered a guided tour by an enthusiastic and extraordinarily knowledgeable guide to which I found simply amazing as you could not get such knowledge from simply walking around. The relics and artifacts were unique and fascinating as were the handy knowledge sheets dotted around the museum. We were sure to donate generously and thank the wonderful volunteers. You could spend 10 minutes to an hour looking at all of the various chronologically organised pieces and I would recommend to anyone with even a slight historical interest to visit this brilliant museum. 5 ⭐

Great little museum that is free of charge. Worth visiting if you have 20mins to spare. Nice little garden as well.

Took out two grand-daughters (9 &7) there. They had a great time....a quiz to find items, a small shop very helpful and friendly guides. All for free but you can make a donation if you wish. Thoroughly recommend

Very interesting museum. After a very knowledgeable chat with the staff a good look around and a visit to the adjoining building where a tapestry was in the making.of which we were asked to stitch a piece of and put our name in book as a record of all people who have done a bit for battle museum. Great day out ..
