Gas Mark 1

Gas Mark One are a great friendly company who go the extra mile. We had our boiler installed by them in 2016 and serviced every year. Unfortunately we switched to Domestic & General and Vailant cue disaster. Fortunately GM1 we’re on hand to sort the problem out and even contacted Vailant to get me an appointment (they had ignored me even though it was a gas leak!) very pleased with response, friendly staff and quick response. We will move back to the 2 Star plan in January lesson learnt.

Really disappointed and honestly thinking about reporting this to those higher up- £85 to just come and look at an oven when i’m only 2 minutes away. This is an absolute joke and i will advise people to stay away from this joke of a place. Will never ever be returning.

I had used Gas Mark 1 along with their kitchen company a few years ago and was very pleased. However I have just used them to try and fix my boiler. After an initial fee to diagnose problem,then two visits to replace two parts costing in total £750 I still had the same fault. The engineer seemed to have no idea and seemed to be guessing. I have since had another central heating engineer look at the boiler and certainly seemed more clued up. When I spoke to Gas mark 1! Office staff they seemed totally disinterested in my complaint. My advice is do not use this company at all costs.

Can’t thank Gas Mark 1 enough for their help and great service. I had an issue with my toilet flush and they arranged an engineer to attend the next day. They got the flush sorted for me for a really reasonable charge. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

I had a wall mounted Valiant boiler fitted this summer 2023. The existing boiler was a very old heavy cast iron floor boiler so the installation was a complex changeover. I cannot praise the efficiency professionalism and dedication Rhys, the company installation engineer, gave to this. He ensured every complex task was carried out calmly, speedily and expertly; from the beginning quote to the finished installation and after service, this company has delivered.

Used GM1 for a big job at my place of work. Came and did a free quote and put in the most reasonable price out of four. Pleased with the work. Therefore when my mum urgently needed something fixed for my disabled brothers annex, I immediately recommend Gas Mark One as I knew they wouldn't rip her off. I was very wrong.The heating system needed a replacement part, she knew exactly what was wrong with it because it had broken before. She called Gas Mark One and said this is broken could you give me a quote for how much this will be to fix? The man said he will come out. He came out to the property, was there for literally 2 minutes and informed her of what she already knew, that that part needed replacing. He then gave her a card machine and charged her £85 for a 'call out charge' to tell her what she had called them for in the first place. He then said he will send a quote for the work.They were unaware at this point that this customer was my mum and they had just carried out a big job for me as a business, where they came in cheapest and did not charge to do a quote/call out at all. Very angry about this, I contacted Toni and he said he will take some money off the quote when she receives it. She received the quote two days later for over £400 plus the £85 she had needlessly paid. I didn't even bother asking for the reduction promised as I knew this was not what it cost to fix seen as we have had it fixed before.Low and behold we used a different plumber who asked for a couple of photos, was round 2 days later with the part needed, did the work and charged £80 for the whole lot!I felt awful that I had recommended this company based on business experience with them and they went and took advantage of an older lady and ripped her off. Never got the money back, and will never use again for business or personal. They treat businesses with bigger money jobs very different to a lone older woman. What makes it worse is when I first recommended them, my mother's response was oh no they were in the paper for ripping off older people. I said must have changed hands because they were very reasonable!I would avoid if you don't want to be ripped off. The only way they could have resolved this was to refund her the obvious rip of 'call out charge' but they wouldn't even do that sadly.

Avoid at all cost, likes to take advantage of the older generation by charging £85 to look at something then quotes wild prices to fix. Have gone somewhere else and much cheaper.

Thank you for the engineers visit today. We had a leaking radiator which the engineer quickly solved for us. This is why we have been longstanding loyal customers. Have recommended Gas Mark 1 to friends and neighbours and will continue to do so. Thank you.

Tony, John and the team at Gas Mark One provide a great gas and plumbing service. Ive used them for twenty years for both domestic and business work. Any work carried out is done by the book, and thoroughly professionally. Highly recommend them for jobs both big and small.
