The Pickled Goose
Food was really nice however the menu on the website isn't the current menu so was disappointed they didn't have what I was initially looking forward to (steak and ale pie), seems to have been replaced with a steak and kidney pudding which is what I ordered. It's also tapas style so the mains don't come with any sides so what looks like good value, actually ends up being very expensive. For example if you want pudding and chips this would be about £18.When you have The Roebuck just down the road which has just as nice food it makes it hard to justify coming back.Negatives about price aside the food and atmosphere were great and looks as though they have live music from time to time.Would recommend if you want a fancy date night and have a bit of money to spend but if you want a social meal and drinks probably not the right place.

Went for a Roast Beef Dinner on the opening weekend.Delicious food, fabulous decor, excellent service and staff.Tapas style dining, won't suit everyone. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for....quality food. The Baked Alaska was fantastic. Will be back. I just hope it works in this format.Keep up the good work.

Great tasty food, in a very cozy environment. Recommend the chicken and leek soup, with freshly baked bread. The atmosphere was especially cozy with the fireplace on. The service was fast and very good.

Excellent food; excellent service and a great location.Really recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere for a treat or special meal as it is above average prices, but well worth it. We've been a number of times and would definitely still go back.Good selection of beers too.Staff were great and very accommodating it our little boy.Try the Pickled Goose out!

Lovely that the Pickled Goose has reopened - we live close by and it is good to be able to wander in for a drink on a Friday. 4 real ales on when we visited, and those sampled were in good condition. Suitable for families with children - a selection of drinks and nibbles is available, with colouring sheets and crayons for entertainment. Not too busy but pleasantly buzzy when we visited. We will be back, and at some point will sample the food!

Amazing place - serving beautifully presented delicious meals from quality produce... As well as first rate gastro-pub fare... Or it's a lovely place for reasonably priced soup and a sandwich! Friendly efficient service.

First visit on Wednesday 8th October.wow what a place , it has so much potential. First impression upon walking through the door nice up tempo music, lighting just perfect, nice warm welcome.people chatting instead of whispering when music is so low. sure this place will get busier once word gets around. Not tried food yet but looks and smells absolutely delicious

Wow. Top quality food. Very good Estrella on draught and organic red tasty. Friendly knowledgeable assured service. Family friendly. Good price for the quality. The bread from the nibbles section is unmissable especially the garlic and cheese loaf and the treacle mini loaf. Think the sourdough needs a bit of presentation work but this is a minor quibble..Lucky enough to go on a Monday as it was bank holiday Easter Monday and I know they are usually closed on this day. This is the best meal we have had since 263 in Preston and although locals may know it well I think it's a real hidden gem. Make the journey it's worth it. Would like to know more about the chef. Has excellent potential as you can see in the photos and this is restaurant food not gastro pub. Enjoy.

Food was fantastic not quite cooked the way I preferred so mentioned it and they went above and beyond. The manager was fantastic and literally made it the best dining experience we’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend especially there Sunday lunches. Thank you
