Beware of Bisca !In April 22 we were quoted a delivery date of January 23 for two stair cases. On this basis proceeded with the design phase at a cost of £4,500. We were told in writing that this phase enabled Bisca to finalise the prices.The Design phase was delivered 3 months later (late July) at which point we were told that prices would now not be confirmed until the next stage ( and us paying more money) and that delivery would now be another 5 months April / May 23 !!This was not the basis on which we agreed to pay the design fee , they had ample opportunity during the three months it took them to deliver the design phase to advise of delays and ask if we still wished to proceed.I am now taking Bisca to court to recover the money that has been wasted on a design fee for a project that could not be delivered anywhere near on time and for miss representing that the design fee would enable a finalised price.If you still decide to work with Bisca you may wish to learn from my experience.Their response below is typical of my experience with Bisca Staircases in that it fails to address the issue of why during the three months that it took them to deliver the design plan they did not mention that delivery dates were slipping. Instead they just assumed" a five month delay would be acceptable without giving me the option to cancel before they completed the design process."

Dear Bisca Team,Thank you so much for an amazing experience from start to finish. We gave you a triple brief to create a bespoke showpiece staircase in our upside down house, provide an invisible balcony to make the most of our view and to allow natural light into our gloomy underground bedroom corridor.You came up with an elegant U-shaped glass balustraded oak staircase, a 14m length of balcony glass fitted in four sections between existing steel beams with hidden oak sleeves which the glass disappear into and some uniquely crafted oak and glass lightwells which flood light into the corridor below and are also a centrepiece walk way above.What a genuine pleasure it has been, right through from the initial design stage to manufacture and then installation of a series of complex and unique solutions. The creativity and ideas offered from all parts of the team along the way have been inspiring and the time taken at every stage, from helping us understand and choose materials, to measuring up and re-measuring constantly to make sure the finished article was millimetre perfect, has been very impressive.The result is a beautiful mix of wood, steel and glass which are without doubt the wow factors in our new home.The whole process has been a pleasure and we couldn't be happier with the results which we will cherish for a lifetime.
