The last remaining part of the original Medieval Trent Bridge dating from 1156. These are the flood arches at the very start/end of the bridge. It was demolished c1871 after the completion of the current bridge.

This is a little known area and has been sadly neglected. Weeds had overgrown much of the 2 arches. There is someone who has a tent underneath one of the arches, but no sign of them when we were there.Although these arches are in West Bridgford they are still owned by Nottingham City Council. They gave permission and the rubbish bags for a group of us to make the area far more presentable again.

Not many people know about the Old Trent Bridge! Built before the river was redirected under today’s modern Trent Bridge, it served for many years. It still stands to this day! There isn’t a tourist shop, guide or anything like that, however it’s sometimes nice to walk down from the Embankment and have a look.

Driven past so many times and never noticed it until someone at work mentioned it. Shame there doesn’t seem to be a plaque or information board so I bet loads of people just drive or walk by.

It's part of the old Trent Bridge, and it's in a hole! No wonder they replaced it with a new one - it's really not much use down there :) Local legend has it that it is named 'Trent Bridge' because it is a bridge over the, er, River Trent, but that is unconfirmed. Worth a little look. Enjoy my vids.

This is great that someone thought and save that remaining of old bridge! It's should be always like that! But should be more visible. Bravo!

On a lovely sunny day it's really nice to just sit on the steps by the water. So relaxing.
