When I say the staff were useless please know that I mean it. Lines are long and slow. Waited 20mins for service. Went to change cash, something I had done a week before at the same location, only to be told they couldn't do it. The unnecessary comments from the staff member regarding my situation were uncalled for and rude.

Several years ago I tried to avoid using this Post Office as there were always queues and some of the staff were very rude (to all customers). However, I think it has now improved and I now find the staff are generally very pleasant and helpful, so I'm quite surprised by the poor reviews. I think queuing is to be expected at busy times, though.

Living in Canterbury for 3 years now and have had to use this post office on many occasions, it is CONSISTENTLY under staffed! You’re lucky if there are 2 people working here, despite there being 6 counters. Worst run post office in any city I have lived, always a big queue waiting for the one poor overworked individual who has to serve every person, not helped by the fact the three self serve checkouts are closed 8/10 times I go there too! Absolutely shocking service and I hate to think how long I have waited in line in this dreary place. Post office get your act together! Canterbury is a busy city and this post office needs staffing.

A disgrace. 20 people in the queue and 1 member of staff. Chaotic and messy

Need to post back a parcel - checked opening hours on Sat afternoon. 9-5.30. No problem. Got there and sign up - out to lunch 1.30 to 2.30. No problem again - I was there at 1.20. But no. Wasn't allowed in. Was told guy had to go to lunch FROM 1.30 so queue was closed already. If you have to close the whole post office for an hour on a busy Saturday afternoon because someone needs a lunch break YOU NEED MORE STAFF

Very long queues so did my own special delivery letter as open late on a Saturday. I don't discriminate against anyone but employee had personal hygiene issues and really smelt. I waited ages for assistance to approve my letter and then pay. He then left it on the counter for anyone to grab and I gave it to the cashier myself to put in the proper basket. Not impressed. Prefer the one in Deal Queen Street any day.

Queue of over 12 people in front of me. I waited for over 30 minutes to be able to send off my parcel. A man in glasses waltzes in with coffee and pastries then sits there ignoring the massive queue and not helping colleague serve customers. Understaffed and unimpressive.

We do our very best the staff are honest hard working people under bad circumstances, understaffed some undertrained and do the best they can, the only reason self service not in use is generally due to staff breaks for half an hour at a time, also to everyone as a reminder they are not royal mail and there are some things they cannot do even though you are told otherwise by other people ie banks, and for the only time they are not a preparation station, they do not prepare your parcels nor have the items to do so that's all on you they will simply help you send it off once it's ready to go and the rest is up to you, not only that but any international sending has risks! You are told beforehand as once it leaves the UK there is no more they can do personally make sure to have tracking and such in place as they don't know how other post office services/mail companies are on other countries especially with covid etc backing it up so just be careful... overall its a nice place just understaffed, also as a last thing people stop getting angry when you pop in for something complicated 2 minutes before closing time, you have all day to get things done there and some things take time to do make sure to put time aside to get it done properly these people need to go home as well they are not robots! They tolerate a ton of uneccesary abuse and yet always are so nice to everyone.

Staff are very helpful but poor them, always understaffed. Since the introduction of self service machines, which should've made things quicker, I spend even more time in there than I used to.I go in there quite often to post work related items and noticed that, due to staff shortage they let newbees on their own too soon. No I don't know of how long that training should be or individuals' capabilities, but it seemed like they were struggling big time and always had to ask someone else to show them processes, slowing down even more the queue.Don't get me wrong, everybody is so polite and helpful, I just hope for them to be under less pressure soon.
