The Heaton Tap
Thought I'd give this place another go since it's only up the road from me, but I certainly won't be back. Incredibly rude service from the landlord both times. My partner tried to ask a question about the beers and before he could even finish his sentence, the landlord barked it says it on the fridge doors" as if my partner was stupid. Incredinly hostile. The whole point of places like this is to try different beers and get expert advice. Do yourself a favour and go to Elder beer cafe round the corner for a much better experience!"

Stay well clear!Lovely place with a great beer selection. Yet, an incredibly grumpy landlord that likes to charge you more (and excuse later). He makes you feel like doing him a favour, and being a nuisance. What a shame for what I hoped would be a nice place.

Booked a slot here just after pubs reopened. Nice set up with the outdoor seating. Friendly welcome from the barman and tried two great ales at very reasonable prices. Always good to support local businesses and you won't go far wrong choosing this place. Will be back for certain.

“Take your brood and F-off”. Said the grumpy and anxious landlord. I’ve been here several times and enjoyed the beer with my two young children (4 and 1). On this last occasion there were three other children in the pub. The landlord accused my child of making a mess (she hadn’t, she was sat reading a book!). He then told me ‘take your brood and f*^% off!’ in front of several startled regulars, some of which we’d had the pleasure of talking with and getting to know on previous visits. I’m absolutely astounded that someone running a business should be so discriminatory towards the people that visit. Simply outrageous. We won’t visit again and will make sure that the families throughout Heaton are aware of this man’s vile attitude toward the youngest generation of our community. Stay clear and instead visit one of the many welcoming and open minded pubs and bars that are in the area.

Small but perfectly-formed bar inside a converted shop, a few metres off Chillingham Road. Loads of beers in cans and on draught, for fair prices. Friendly service and a great atmosphere, it's cramped inside but that adds to the character. There are a couple of small tables outside.

Small local micro pub with a large selection of draught, canned beers, cider and wine. Indoor and outdoor seating with friendly atmosphere.

Good selection. Rude staff. Decided not to buy there for that reason. Otherwise it's a nice little place.

The Heaton Tap
The worlds grumpiest landlord. There was a good selection of expensive beer on tap. Unfortunately the experience was let down by the landlord. It seemed like a gross inconvenience when we ordered a beer. There was huffing and puffing, and muttering under the breath. We decided not to order a second and moved on. There were five other people in the pub and the overall atmosphere was stale.

Another perfect evening at the Heaton Tap. Excellent choice of drinks, staff very welding. A lovely spot for a drink and chat. We will be back
