Dog Kennel Wood

The family and the dog loves coming to this woodland valley following a sparkling stream that is shallow enough for dogs and kids to play in. We just saw the first bluebells today so in a couple of weeks this will be absolutely spectacular!

I love this place. Walking along the small stream with wild garlic filling the banks. Peaceful and idyllic.

Reggie dog love Dog Kennel Wood. The only downside is that some people leave rubbish (sweet wrappers, bottles, cans and cannisters) lying around. People can be disgusting - but the woods are wonderful.

I'd rather keep this one a secret but guess I should share ;-) Stumbled on this one deciding a different route off the end of Hennel Lane bridge and a quick off the beaten path and the dog and I are dropping down in to his favourite types of woodland. Well maintained by the Woodland Trust with steps down most inclines and bridges or walkways over more difficult parts. Wellies are best especially as one of the bridges is literally ON the stream bed (could be difficult after excessive rain). Will definitely make this part of a longer route taking in other woodlands close by. I expect this would be a busy peopled walk at any other time than the 8.30-9am school/work commute time

Great place to walk your dog's.

A really nice wood you do get some graffiti on the hennel lane end bridge but the rest is quite nice there a a few good paths although some are really muddy and stay that was all year round so if you want to explore the woods many paths take this into account. This is a great place to walk your dog there is plenty of space for them to run around.

It is great from a public perspective of being easy to walk through and being a big wood open to the public. From a wildlife perspective, however, I felt like it was quite homogenous and lacking in life, but that's just me.

Wet and muddy today but still a great area to walk and explore. So lucky to have these lovely paths and walkways close by.
