Service was fast and friendly, staff were very knowledgeable about the menu and happy to talk you through dishes. Food was fresh, tasty and authentic, good portion sizes and great value for money. Restaurant was beautifully decorated and jpop playing in the background made for a lovely atmosphere.

Hamayuu is a lovely Japanese restaurant . We've been there a few times and love Hamayuu. We recommend the sushi and fried chicken(called karaage)The staff are also very nice. On weekends, I think it's better to make a reservation.

Good and authentic food. The service was fast and efficient. The place itself is quite small but cosy. Both my boyfriend and I were very impressed and would definitely come back to Hamayuu.

My girlfriend took me here for a birthday meal, the food was absolutely delicious and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Can't recommend enough!

Not a ton of choices in Chester for sushi, but this one isn't bad. Had the sashimi and it was pretty fresh and overall well done. They did forget my rice in the order which points to a lack of general attention, but I was able to grab some at Tesco.Went back a second time and survived!Update - I did go back a second time. And they remembered that the rice was missing from my previous order. That was nice. However, the chef seemed to be frustrated with my take away order. When I received it, the sashimi looked like it had been thrown in without care. The cuts were haphazard and I even found a bone in the salmon! That is a very bad sign. I didn't get sick, but I can say that it was not a good experience.Lowering this to fewer stars based on this experience.

Really excellent dining experience. Restaurant itself had a very busy, lively Atmosphere. Food was incredible with an extensive menu and I was able to try things I'd never had before. I especially enjoyed the Eel! Staff were attentive and helpful. Will definitely be back!

Delicious authentic Japanese cuisine.The food is served very fresh and the atmosphere is very comfortable.The service from the staff was amazing.Highly recommend. I would recommend booking a table because it is very busy here.

Really good sashimi and sushi and service was perfect we got some great advice on sake and the food was so good we ordered more seafood gyoza were exceptional too can't wait to come try more

Great Japanese restaurant with lots to offer! We got some sushi, seafood tempura, a Katsu curry and a salmon burrito and we're extremely happy with all three options! The portions were generous and the staff were very friendly. I'll come here again!
