Oak Lakes Fisheries

First time today and wow what a place! Very well maintained throughout. Peaceful, welcoming atmosphere. The toilets were immaculate and has a shower cubicle inside. We had a breakfast in the cafe and omg so delicious!! The staff were very friendly and we had a good laugh with them.I am a beginner and was float fishing. I caught a nice amount of small fish which I was overjoyed with. Nothing big but I didn't have the set up for big fish however we did see a fair few big boys swimming around. We was so impressed with this place that were going back this weekend to stay the whole weekend!

Fished the Oak lake for 24 hours overnight.Friendly staff made us all feel welcome (group of 7)And a Lovely lake.Toilets could do with a revamp and the shop could stay open a little longer but on thePlus side with takeaways available to the car park.Unfortunately we didn’t catch any Carp (maybe due to overfishing after lockdown) just a few tench caught, but we would definitely return for a overnight session to finally catch a Oak lake Carp.

Oak lake is a great lake but my only niggle is I think for the size a depth of the lake is its under stocked with the bigger carp I think it really needs around another 30 × 20-30lb putting in and I think that will make it a very excellent lake . But I do like the complex and everyone is very friendly too Kevin mick and Gary

got a booking had to cancle for a emergency,ask to rebook for another date they wouldn’t do it refunded me well. waiting on the refund , but paul one of the owners is so rude!! takes about 5 hours to reply to each text and talks like a child poor service

I am giving this five in spite of the review! Me an two pals came across Oak Lake by chance some eight years ago and loved it, Oak became our chosen venue for the years to come; twice a year. Three years ago something changed, gone were the nice clean toilets and shower area, gone were the fish; there were some great Tench in there and not big Carp but plenty of them. The swims are not as well kept as they had been. We really miss the place, it was always a joy to go there; we have gone back to hunting other venues but our hearts sill reminisce about the care free adventures we had here. The wild life was fantastic, as I enjoy photography, I spent as much time taking pictures as fishing but even that had gone. The breakfasts are great, that never changed :) I have noticed some great pictures of fish on FB, so come on Kev and crew sort the toilets out, cut the trees on the pegs back; if we are going to blank anywhere we would rather blank there.

Booked pegs 1,2 and 3 on oak lakeWhen we arrived we was showed to our pegs by a balif. We set up for our 24hr session then was told we were in the wrong pegs and had to move to pegs 20,21 and 22Where the decking especially on peg 21 is unsafe.I wouldn't mind but the swims we moved from stayed empty the whole time we was there.There was a large gathering across the lake that had no thought for anyone else on the lake. With there loud music and fires.Overall i did not enjoy my stay here and wont be recommending to anyone.

Fished here twice on a day ticket. Well kept fishery with a good varied stock. Two match lakes along with a 'Predator' lake and a Members only Carp lake.Great bailiffs. Helpful, friendly along with a great sense of humour.NB: Best to book a day ticket in advance but if not busy you may get a swim just turning up.
