I went for lunch with a friend just after Xmas to get away from the house. We sat on the left side of the bar which was absolutely freezing! After about 10 minutes we had to move to the right side were the heating could actually be felt .The atmosphere was very unwelcoming as well as the offering and low lighting . After we made our lunch order, we were then told they had ran out of Chicken burgers and bacon for the cheese burgers. This meant half of the menu was unavailable and we would have to change both our orders. Had it not been pouring with rain and the cost of parking ,we would have just left.However, we were famished and didn't want to then have to look for another spot to eat . Reluctantly I ordered the 1924 burger and my friend ordered the Cheese burger. We also ordered a portion of wings to share. In hindsight this was a mistake, as when they came we received 4 wings for over £10 lol! This portion of BBQ wings literally cost the same price as the lunch special of a burger and a side. The wings were also cold and lacked any flavour .The burgers were fine ,but we were both left with a bad taste in our mouths when the bill came.Considering there's a cost of living crisis and hospitality businesses are failing they need to rethink some of their product pricing. I mean 4 measly wings for for over £10 is just ridiculous. I wouldn't go back or recommend this place . It would better if they restored it back to being a local boozer and save the people of Forest hill a wasted trip.

What an absolute gem of a place packed with charm, order-to-table app option and board games available to play.They’re serving great beer and Meatliquor food is always delicious. Highly recommend the Monkey Fingers!

Service was abit slow but it was okay the burgers are nice 9/10 and the chilicheese fries are 5/10, the Fanta tasted weird so 3/10 and the coke was 8/10

Nice burgers, but expensive. £12 or something just for a burger. Another fiver for chips, a drink and the service charge and you are looking at £25, which is too much to go frequently. Liked how they introduced a pint for £4.50 recently which is much more in line with other nearby Forest Hill pubs. Sadly, they have already jacked the price of this up to £5.50, which I think they have got a real cheek even daring to advertise in their window. It rarely seems particularly busy, so not sure what their future prospects are like.

We visited yesterday and really enjoyed the food, but the restaurant was absolutely freezing, there was no heating on in the back room and most people were wearing their coats! The service was very poor, after the food arrived no one came back to our table to offer more drinks or dessert. I also had to track someone down to get our bill, which had service added :(The restaurant was doing a lot of takeaway orders, so customers in the restaurant were not attended to, such a shame because the food was great.

Went for the roast and decided to try something different with the salad and harissa potatoes - it was so scrumptious. The service here is also top notch, have always loved our visits.The pigs head on toast was amazing. One of the favourite things we have tried here without a doubt.

Visited on Saturday night 18/11 . My partner had horrific food poisoning for 48 hours and today, after speaking with other people we went with, we found out some of them have been really unwell too. Me and my 3 month baby have been fine despite being in close contact with him and others so it clearly wasn’t a viral bug. Maybe a one off, but a £120 night out has caused us huge issues so I’d be cautious eating here. We sadly won’t be returning..(I emailed the below address with my details but received no reply so I’m not sure they take it that seriously..)

The star is for the decor in the restaurant as it was very comfy. I sat down ready to order, but I was greeted with nothing. No hello or “how can I help?”.With only wanting to spend £5, there was two options but as I went to pay, the app added service charge too. What service??? I made my way out of there. It’s a real shame since this was my first time visiting as it was 10 minutes away from mine. I won’t be coming back
