Johnsons of Gloucester - Volvo Cars

Absolutely appalling service from Johnson’s Gloucester. In 2022 we had a new mixer pipe fitted and the car made a noise ever since. In 2023 the car went for a service and we asked them to look at the noise, specifying that the noise had been present since the previous pipe fitting. They told us the noise was nothing to do with that and the turbo had gone. We were quoted £6,600 to fix! We took the car to an independent Volvo specialist who has taken photos of a poorly fitted mixer pipe and replaced the gasket. Our car is fixed for less than £200 inc labour and VAT. As far as I am concerned all Johnson’s are interested in is flogging a new or second hand car. Their workmanship is poor, as is their diagnostic ability. Needless to say, while we love our car, it will not be going anywhere near Johnson’s ever again.

Went in today ready to spend money and purchase a vehicle - cash. The man couldn’t be bothered to try and sell, worst customer service experience. Just opened car from inside for us to go outside to look. Didn’t offer to sit down and take some details and find out what I was looking for to show me cars and have a test drive. Spending my money at Volkswagen instead much better customer service.

I booked a test drive for between 1130 - 1200. We arrived at 1130, waited 20 minutes, and weren't even acknowledged by any of the team.I got a phone call from one of the representatives at 1230 asking if I was turning up. He was then rude and slightly agreesive towards me because I pointed out we turned up, but no one had acknowledged us for 20 minutes, so we left.My sister had a similar experience a few years ago.My sister went to the Mazda garage across the road. We've both had such good experiences with them, I'm looking at buying there as well.

I would recommend Johnsons Volvo Gloucester to friends and family because they are always very helpful and friendly to deal with. They always carry out the work they need to in the allocated time frame, and I always leave their premises feeling a valued customer.

I initially called about a vehicle I had seen online to check if it was still available, which it was, and with only 30 mins notice they had the vehicle out ready for me to view when I arrived (under cover too as it was raining). They were expecting my visit on reception, they quickly took the details they needed in order for me to test drive the vehicle and whilst I was driving the car, they efficiently looked at my part ex vehicle. On returning to the garage, Steve Pye was brilliant to deal with, he explained some of the features on the car that we hadn't spotted, and talked to us about the various finance options and optional extras. They gave a fair price for part exchange and I felt comfortable throughout the whole process. Steve was personable and knowledgeable and completely dispelled the typical sales approach that we'd experienced at many other garages during our search for a car. The handover of the car was smooth and all convenient to us. Very happy with the service and outcome.

Had the car in for a warranty job. Great service, received the car back on the same day cleaned immaculately too. Highly recommended will use again
