A nice quiet independent cafe.The food is all made fresh & the coffee is great.Russle the owner was very friendly and we had a great chat about his experience as a professional chef and his ambitions for the cafe.He also set me up with a loyalty card before I left.

Great coffee (Chai latte and mocha are very tasty), and delicious warm food is served every day. They have an amazing bolognese (a very generous amount and decent price), their bread and sandwiches are the best in Banbury, and the chicken curry is great. The owner has a new menu daily, and they offer takeaway or eat-in.A hidden gem! No idea why this place is not heaving every day, it should be! They are also open very early in the morning (7.30am), which is very helpful.

I had heard great things about the food and coffee at L'Espresso, so I had to check it out for myself. I was greeted by the friendly owner/chef, who I believe was called Russle (sorry if I misspelt).The coffee was spot on. Perfect temperature, perfect strength. Simply a joy to drink. The cakes on display were all made by Russle which is very rare these days in Banbury as most places buy in their cakes. The pistachio cake was INSANE and I wish I had took a piece home now as I haven't stopped thinking about it all day.Russle is so passionate about real food. I could tell how much he loved his job and the people of this town. I learnt that he has been a chef for most of his life so he certainly know's what he's doing. I can't wait to go back and try some of his hot dishes as they look delicious and also have rave reviews on Just Eat.Thank you Russle for some great food, drink and conversation. A true hidden gem of Banbury.
